POSITION:Control Room Operator

JOB GRADING: C1

DEPARTMENT: Metallurgy

SITE: Tarkwa

Role Details

Gold Fields Ghana seeks to employ a competent and experienced individual to the position of Control Room Operator. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, controlling and executing tasks according to laid down procedures.

About the role:

• Ensure planning, controlling and executing tasks to achieve safe quality objectives, by reporting deviations in the metallurgical process
• Ensure the achievement of qualitative and quantitative output through the efficient utilization of available resources
• Initiate cost saving practices and productivity improvement
• Organizing, coordinating and adhering to set controls in accordance with procedures
• Maintain a safe and friendly environment to ensure effective engineering standards and procedures are developed and implemented in compliance with ISO 14001 and 45001 requirements
• Responsible for own safety as well as safety of others

About you:

• A minimum of a Senior High School Certificate
• Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a similar position
• Demonstrable understanding of Control Room operations
• Relevant Certificate of Competence from the Minerals Commission of Ghana
• Well-developed oral and written communication skills in English language as well as ability to interact with people of diverse culture
• A hands-on approach and be willing to work long hours to obtain the required results
• Ability to initiate, take responsibility and manage tasks through to completion
• Must have a hands-on approach and be willing to commit to obtain the required results
• A valid Ghanaian driver’s license and proficiency in driving light vehicles
