Job Description

We are seeking a Control Room Coordinator to play a critical role within our Control Room operations, supporting the triage, coordination and management of faults, alarms and asset failures across the Northern Assets network (NCX, M2 and LCT).

Embedded within the Control Room environment, this role ensures maintenance-related issues are accurately assessed, prioritised and converted into high-quality work orders, supporting safe operations, timely responses and excellent data integrity.

Key responsibilities

  • Acting as the central point for triaging system-generated faults and alarms within the Control Room
  • Working closely with Control Room Operators to interpret, confirm and troubleshoot faults
  • Applying structured triage and criticality frameworks to determine priority, response timeframes and responsible teams
  • Raising and managing Work Orders in Maximo, ensuring accuracy in asset selection, failure coding and fault descriptions
  • Coordinating work allocation to internal maintenance teams and subcontractors
  • Identifying duplicate or repeat faults and linking related work orders where required
  • Monitoring open work orders, responding to KPIs and escalating high-risk or overdue items
  • Supporting incident response by identifying affected assets and required follow-up actions
  • Analysing trends and emerging issues to support early intervention and continuous improvement
  • Maintaining strong working relationships with Control Room staff, Maintenance Leads, Asset Engineers and external partners

What you’ll bring

You’ll come from a technical or operational background, such as an electrical trade or an electrical qualification, you’re currently working towards. You may also bring experience from control room, tunnel, infrastructure or ITS environments, or from roles focused on maintenance coordination, dispatch or technical support along with;

  • 1–3 years’ experience in a maintenance, infrastructure, tunnel, ITS or similar operational environment
  • Exposure to Control Room systems such as SCADA, OMCS or equivalent
  • Experience raising or coordinating work orders, ideally using Maximo (desirable)
  • A solid understanding of tunnel systems (electrical, ITS, mechanical and control systems)
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret alarms and fault indications
  • Excellent attention to detail and confidence working within structured processes
  • Clear communication skills and the ability to remain calm in a live operational environment
