
The Senior Control & Protection System Engineering Manager leads engineering teams responsible for the design, integration, analysis, and testing of HVDC Control & Protection systems. The role spans the full engineering lifecycle—from conceptual design and modelling through simulation, validation, implementation, and commissioning—ensuring the delivery of high-quality technical solutions across multiple projects.
This position requires deep expertise in HVDC Control & Protection systems, proven leadership, and the ability to drive engineering strategy, process improvement, and consistent technical quality across multi-disciplinary, international teams. A key focus is building organisational capability, strengthening engineering processes, and unifying engineering centres worldwide around common standards and best practices. Success depends on proactive communication, strong collaboration, and fostering a global “one-team” culture.
Key responsibilities include leadership development, engineering governance, technical oversight, lessons-learned implementation, and adherence to Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SQDC) principles.
1. Oversee day-to-day departmental operations, ensuring consistent design practices, adherence to global processes, and delivery of technical solutions that meet project and tender objectives.

3.Be the owner of all aspects of Control & Protection system deployment, system Configuration, and validation, as well as all usual integration challenges of the control & protection system
4. Recruit, develop, and mentor engineering talent to build a high-performing, resilient organisation.
5. Identify and implement improvements in engineering tools, processes, systems, and technical solutions to enhance customer value and operational efficiency.
6. Provide guidance and leadership to specialists, supervisors, and staff while fostering a diverse and inclusive work environment.
7. Demonstrate technical excellence, professionalism, and a strong commitment to safety in all activities.
