Experienced Freelance Controls & Automation Engineer specializing in industrial automation, machine control systems, drive technology, and process optimization. Proven expertise in PLC programming, motion control, industrial communication networks, machine safety, and troubleshooting within highly automated production environments. Strong track record of improving machine performance, reducing cycle times, optimizing positioning accuracy, and ensuring reliable operation through systematic diagnostics and continuous technical improvements.

Scope of work:

• analyses current issues from the automation technique, error handling and develop solutions together with the supplier solving the same

• analyses of current process and throughput issues improving the solutions

Minimum Requirement:

• 3 years of experience of managing integrating automation projects

• Fluent in Chinese is a must

Core Competencies:

PLC Programming & Automation

• Extensive experience with leading automation platforms such as Siemens TIA Portal and Beckhoff TwinCAT.

• Development, commissioning, testing, and optimization of machine control software for industrial applications.

Drive Technology & Motion Control

• Hands-on experience with drive technologies from SEW-Eurodrive, Siemens Sinamics, and others.

Industrial Networks & Communication

• Strong knowledge of industrial communication protocols and fieldbus systems, including Profinet, EtherCAT, and Ethernet/IP.

• Design, integration, and troubleshooting of networked automation systems for seamless machine and plant communication.

HMI & SCADA Systems

• Customization and enhancement of HMI and SCADA interfaces to improve operator usability and productivity.

• Development of intuitive machine operation concepts, clear alarm management, and user-friendly diagnostic tools.

Functional Safety & Machine Safety

• Practical implementation of machine safety functions according to ISO 13849 standards.

• Experience with Safety Integrated concepts, emergency stop systems, safety door interlocks, and risk-reduction measures in industrial machinery.

Diagnostics & Process Optimization

Troubleshooting & Root Cause Analysis

• Rapid interpretation of electrical schematics (EPLAN and similar systems).

• Systematic fault finding in control cabinets using measurement equipment such as multimeters and diagnostic tools.

• Efficient identification and resolution of electrical, mechanical, and software-related issues.

Cycle Time Optimization

• Fine-tuning of control algorithms, motion profiles, and process parameters to maximize throughput while minimizing wear and downtime.

• Continuous performance analysis and implementation of efficiency improvements in automated production systems.
