About Ulan Complex

The Ulan Coal Mines is an established, efficient, and high production underground longwall mining complex in the western coalfields of NSW. With state-of-the-art mining equipment, the latest technologies, and best in class safety practices, we are leading exporters in thermal coal. The complex comprises of Ulan Underground Mine, Ulan West Underground Mine and Ulan Surface Operations.

The Role

Reporting to the Contracts Superintendent, we're looking for a Contracts Officer to join our Commercial Team, operating across the Ulan Complex.

Key Responsibilities

  • Preparation of Contract Documentation in accordance with Ulan Complex Standards and Policies;

  • Provide advice and assistance to management and Principal’s Representatives in the correct protocols and procedures for initiating and undertaking contract works;

  • Confirm that all Contract processes are undertaken in accordance with the authorised company contract system, policies and procedures;

  • Assist in or undertake the development of the tender documentation;

  • Provide continued training and support to Mine contract holders;

  • Proactively identify and renew contracts prior to expiry/commencement of work/ future work

  • Maintain an accurate and efficient system to record, store and recover all documentation associated with all contracts processed;

  • Monitor the effectiveness of the contract management process to identify improvements.

You’ll succeed if you

  • Are an excellent communicator and demonstrate high attention to detail, with strong written ability.

  • Have a flexible approach and are commercially orientated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • You can engage with all stakeholders to ensure contracts are accurate and fit for purpose.

  • Have high level computer skills, including the knowledge of Microsoft Suite of applications and SAP.

  • Have qualifications in Contracts Management and experience working in Mining / Heavy Machine industries (desirable).

  • Based at Ulan West, about a 45min drive from Mudgee, NSW.

  • Availability of Primary and High Schools in the area

  • 3.5 hours to Newcastle and Sydney

  • Residential role – onsite Monday to Friday.
