Purpose:
We are currently recruiting for a Contracts Manager – Mining Projects. Our team includes world class experts and dynamic go-getters.

This is a full‑time position based in Alberta, Ontario, or British Columbia, where Worley has established offices.

We are seeking an experienced Contracts Manager / Senior Contract Administrator to act as an individual contributor responsible for the end to end management and administration of assigned contract and construction packages on complex mining and mining related infrastructure projects.

This role is accountable for contract execution, commercial compliance, risk management, and change control for designated scopes of work, working closely with project, engineering, construction, supply chain, legal, and client teams. The position does not include people or line management responsibilities.

The role is Canada based (Alberta, Ontario, or Vancouver) and may require periodic travel to client offices or project sites during the life of the contracts.

Responsibilities:

Contract Package Management

  • Independently manage and administer assigned contract and construction packages from award through close out.
  • Ensure accurate, timely, and compliant contract administration in accordance with contractual terms, company policies, and project procedures.
  • Maintain complete and auditable contract records, including correspondence, meeting minutes, change documentation, and performance records.

Proposal & Contract Review

  • Review Requests for Proposals (RFPs), Invitations to Bid (ITBs), and contract documents to identify commercial risks, non standard terms, and deviations from company policy.
  • Support development and implementation of contract strategies and plans for assigned scopes and packages.
  • Provide commercial and contractual input to project teams during tendering and execution phases.

Negotiation & Commercial Execution

  • Lead or support negotiations related to assigned contracts, including clarifications, amendments, variations, and commercial disputes within delegated authority.
  • Prepare commercial evaluations, bid analyses, contract recommendations, and approval documentation.
  • Conduct contractor interviews and participate in evaluation and award recommendations for assigned packages.

Contractor & Performance Management

  • Administer contracts including correspondence, progress meetings, change management, and performance measurement.
  • Monitor contractor performance against commercial terms, scope, pricing, schedule, and contractual obligations.
  • Review and approve contractor progress claims and invoices in accordance with contract provisions.

Change, Claims & Close Out

  • Manage contract changes, variations, and amendments, ensuring appropriate approvals and documentation.
  • Support claims preparation, evaluation, negotiation, and settlement as required.
  • Participate in contract termination activities when necessary and complete commercial close out reviews, including final accounts and back charges.

Client & Stakeholder Coordination

  • Interface with clients to obtain commercial approvals and address contractual matters in line with established governance processes.
  • Coordinate with engineering, construction, and project controls teams to ensure contractual alignment with technical changes and scope revisions.

What you will bring:
Technical and Industry Experience:

  • Minimum 12+ years of progressive experience in contract administration and contract management, including
    • Demonstrated experience on mining or mining related infrastructure projects (e.g., processing plants, tailings facilities, underground or open pit mine infrastructure).
    • Experience working within EPC and/or EPCM project environments
  • Strong hands on experience managing individual contract or construction packages through their full lifecycle.

Technical & Professional Competencies

  • Proven ability to independently manage complex contractual scopes with limited supervision.
  • Strong understanding of commercial risk, change management, claims, and contract close out processes.
  • Ability to interpret and apply contractual terms, policies, and procedures to real world execution challenges.
  • Broad knowledge of construction and services contracting within mining and heavy industrial environments.

Communication & Collaboration

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly present commercial issues, recommendations, and summaries to project and client stakeholders.
  • Effective negotiator with the ability to influence outcomes while maintaining positive working relationships.
  • Collaborative, team oriented approach with a strong customer service mindset.
  • Experience working in multi cultural and, where applicable, multi national project environments.
  • Commitment to Zero Harm and ethical business conduct.
  • High level of personal accountability, integrity, and professionalism.
  • Results driven, detail oriented, and adaptable in fast paced project environments.

Education – Qualifications, Accreditation, Training:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) in Business, Engineering, Construction Management, Law, or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.


For applicants based in the province of Ontario, the salary range is $100K to $120K CAD.

For applicants based in the province of BC, the salary range is $103K to $121K CAD.
