Job Description

Our client, a Tier 1 Main Contractor, is seeking an experienced Contracts Manager to join their team on a recently commenced data centre project in West Dublin. This is a substantial project with a programme of three years plus anticipated follow-on work, offering long-term security and career development for the right candidate. You will take full commercial and operational responsibility for the delivery of this project, working closely with site management, the supply chain and client representatives to ensure it is delivered on programme, within budget and to the required quality standard.

Key Responsibilities

• Take overall responsibility for the delivery of the data centre project from commencement to handover, including programme, cost and quality.
• Manage and coordinate the site management team, subcontractors and direct labour to ensure effective day-to-day operations.
• Lead commercial management of the project including procurement, subcontract administration, valuations and change management.
• Develop and maintain detailed programmes, milestones and look-ahead schedules in collaboration with the site team.
• Chair and attend progress meetings with the client, design team and supply chain.
• Monitor and manage project budgets, cost reports and cash flow, reporting to senior management.
• Ensure full compliance with health, safety and environmental requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
• Manage the risk register and implement mitigation strategies to protect programme and commercial position.
• Drive quality management processes and ensure all works meet specification and building regulation requirements.

Requirements

• Minimum 10 years’ experience in construction, with at least 5 years in a Contracts Manager or senior project management role.
• Proven track record delivering large-scale commercial or data centre projects with a main contractor.
• Strong commercial acumen with direct experience in subcontract management, valuations and cost control.
• Degree-level qualification in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience working on fast-paced, technically complex projects in a main contracting environment.
