The Contracts Manager is responsible for managing the commercial and contractual aspects of construction projects, including procurement, subcontractor management, variations, claims, risk management, and cost control. Working closely with project and client teams, this role ensures contractual obligations are met while supporting the successful delivery of projects safely, on time, and within budget.

We are seeking an experienced Contracts Manager to join our construction team. Reporting to the Commercial and Risk Manager, you will be responsible for managing the commercial, contractual and financial performance of major construction projects, ensuring contractual obligations are met while protecting the company's commercial interests.

You will provide commercial guidance to project teams, manage contract administration activities, identify and mitigate contractual risks, support procurement and subcontract management, and assist in the resolution of commercial issues and disputes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage commercial and contractual aspects of construction projects.
  • Review contracts, tenders, quotations and subcontract agreements.
  • Identify, assess and mitigate commercial and contractual risks.
  • Provide commercial and contract administration support to project teams.
  • Manage variations, claims, disputes and contract compliance matters.
  • Ensure project documentation and record keeping meet contractual and company requirements.
  • Support financial management, budgeting and commercial reporting.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors and key stakeholders.

Required Skills and Competencies

About You

  • Degree or Diploma in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Business or a related discipline.
  • Significant experience in a Contracts Manager or similar commercial role within the construction industry.
  • Strong understanding of construction contracts and commercial management principles.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities within a fast-paced project environment.
