Job Description

Our client is seeking an experienced Contracts Manager to join their team based in East Galway, overseeing the delivery of civil infrastructure projects across the region. This role involves managing multiple project teams, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards, and driving performance across planning, execution, and financial management. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating resources, maintaining client relationships, and ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget. To be successful, the preferred candidate will possess strong leadership skills, technical expertise in civil works, and a proven ability to manage complex contracts.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and lead contracting operations across multiple civil infrastructure projects.
  • Coordinate project scheduling, resource allocation, and delivery to maximise efficiency.
  • Oversee health and safety compliance, including site inductions, method statements, and safety audits.
  • Liaise with internal teams and subcontractors to ensure accurate record-keeping and reporting.
  • Monitor quality standards and ensure compliance with relevant guidelines and specifications.
  • Manage procurement of approved materials and subcontractors, ensuring compliance with project requirements.
  • Oversee financial performance of contracts, including cost control, invoicing, and monthly accounts.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, local authorities, and stakeholders.
  • Lead and mentor project teams, promoting a culture of safety, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Requirements:

  • Level 8 degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 3 years’ leadership experience in a civil contracting or road surfacing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of project management, health & safety, traffic management, and plant operations.
  • Proven ability to manage budgets, schedules, and contract performance.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate documentation and reporting.
