Job Description

Reporting into the Manager - Procurement, the Contracts Specialist is responsible for providing contract and tender management support. The role focuses on coordinating end to end procurement processes, including but not limited to contract negotiation, preparing and reviewing tender documentation, managing contract administration and ensuring compliance with organisational policies and frameworks. This position works closely with internal and external stakeholders to deliver commercial outcomes, mitigate risk and support contract management across the organisation.

About the role:

  • Prepare tender documents including scopes in collaboration with team across the organisation
  • Coordinate tender processes, evaluations, negotiations and contract awards
  • Support contract development and negotiation, including pricing, commercial terms and conditions.
  • Support contract managers to meet legislative and organisational requirements, standards and practices.
  • Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and suppliers to ensure collaboration and best commercial outcomes for the organisation.
  • Drive continuous improvement in contract management processes, and governance across the organisation.

About you:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications (Commerce, Law or Supply Chain preferred)
  • 5+ years legal, contracts or procurement experience in medium to large organisations, mining industry experience desirable.
  • Strong experience in drafting tender documentation and evaluating submissions.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret and negotiate contract terms (e.g., risk allocation, indemnities, variations, extensions of time)
  • Ability to work independently, communicate clearly (both verbal and written), strong interpersonal and negotiating skills.
  • Effective time and workload management skills, keeping track of a significant quantity of contracts and maintaining accurate records throughout their lifecycle.
  • High level of attention to detail and a problem-solving attitude and collaborative nature in your work style.
  • High competency in the use of the Microsoft Office Suite.
