Job Description

The Strategic Sourcing & Procurement Contract Specialist is responsible for managing the full contract lifecycle for Verisk supplier engagements, from ServiceNow intake through drafting, negotiation support, routing for review, execution, and repository storage. This role requires strong attention to detail, the ability to apply SSP contract playbooks, and the capability to coordinate with internal partners across Legal, Privacy, Security, Insurance, Compliance, and business stakeholders.

This position is partially remote and requires strong independence, reliability, and clear communication, given the distributed nature of the SSP team and our global stakeholders.

Contract Intake & Validation

  • Review and validate SSP contract requests submitted through ServiceNow.
  • Confirm request type (NDA, MSA, LA, SOW, Amendment) and ensure all required information is complete.
  • Communicate with requesters to clarify missing details or correct ticket entries before drafting.

Contract Review & Drafting

  • Draft and review agreements using Verisk-approved templates and playbooks, including the SSP Contract Clause Playbook, US MSA Playbook, and US Insurance Playbook.
  • Ensure accurate completion of supplier information, commercial terms, and risk/compliance requirements.
  • Apply guidance from prior negotiations, approved redlines, and SSP best practices.

Cross-Functional Routing & Approvals

  • Route non-standard terms to Legal, Privacy, Security, Insurance, Compliance, or Procurement teams as needed.
  • Track review timelines and follow up with stakeholders to maintain contract workflow progression.
  • Document all communications, approvals, and actions in ServiceNow.

Supplier Communication & Negotiation Support

  • Coordinate drafts and redlines with suppliers while maintaining professionalism and alignment with Verisk standards.
  • Identify and escalate non-standard terms and support negotiations with internal stakeholders.
  • Facilitate alignment between supplier feedback and business requirements.

Signature, Execution & Documentation

  • Prepare final agreements for execution through DocuSign or Icertis.
  • Verify all required approvals are completed before signature routing.
  • Ensure executed agreements are stored in Icertis and attached to corresponding ServiceNow tickets.
  • Maintain complete documentation and audit-ready records before ticket closure.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Collaborate with SSP leadership, Contract Specialists, Category Managers, Procurement teams, and business stakeholders across Verisk.
  • Participate in knowledge-sharing, calibration, and process improvement initiatives.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Law, Procurement, or a related field, or equivalent relevant professional experience
  • Solid experience in enterprise contract administration
  • Strong understanding of contract terminology, workflow sequencing, and end‑to‑end contract review processes in both English and German is a must.
  • High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple contracts and priorities simultaneously
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with experience operating in a global, cross‑functional environment

  • Demonstrated ability to independently manage contracts through execution, escalate legal or risk issues appropriately, and maintain accurate documentation in contract management systems
  • Fluency in English

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Oracle, Icertis, DocuSign, ServiceNow, or similar contract systems.
  • Prior experience applying contract playbooks or negotiating standard agreements.
  • Comfort supporting stakeholder meetings and supplier discussions.
  • Experience with negotiation of contract terms.
  • German language

We offer:

  • Opportunity to work independently within a global Procurement Team.
  • Valuable hands-on experience in contract management, procurement processes, and cross-functional collaboration
  • Comprehensive onboarding and training to support professional growth and development
  • Hybrid work model with at least 2 days in the office
  • Private life insurance, private medical care, and a Multisport card
