Job Description

About North West Alliance

North West Alliance (NWA) is a fully incorporated 50/50 joint venture between Emu Nest and Veolia. For 13 years, we’ve partnered with clients across the Pilbara to deliver total waste management services and develop long-term, sustainable solutions. Operating from four locations across the region, we work with some of the world’s largest mining companies to support responsible and sustainable operations.

The Opportunity

We’re seeking a commercially astute and collaborative Contract and Sales Manager to lead our contract delivery and sales team and drive excellence across client relationships and contract performance.

About the role

Our Contract Delivery Managers support major NWA contracts across the Pilbara. In this pivotal role, you’ll provide strong leadership, build a high-performing and collaborative team, and help ensure our contracts deliver outstanding service, compliance and commercial value. You’ll also bring an eye for innovation and growth, identifying opportunities to improve existing contracts and support the future development of North West Alliance.

As the primary point of contact for contractual matters, you’ll work closely with clients, Contract Delivery and Sales Managers, our Operations team and various support services to manage contract performance and deliver effective outcomes. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading, supporting and developing a team of Contract Delivery and Sales Managers and Waste Coordinators
  • Building trusted, productive relationships with clients, partners and internal stakeholders
  • Driving excellence, accountability and continuous improvement across existing contracts
  • Managing cost variations and supporting operational and process improvements
  • Leading formal communications and negotiations relating to contract amendments, variations and issue resolution including but not limited to contract annual rate reviews
  • Coordinating timely responses to client matters and attending client meetings
  • Ensuring service agreements deliver value and meet contractual and compliance requirements
  • Identifying opportunities to innovate, improve performance and contribute to sustainable growth

About you

About you

You’re an experienced contract leader with strong commercial acumen and a proven ability to achieve positive outcomes in complex client environments. You can bring people together, build effective relationships and confidently manage contractual discussions and negotiations.

You’ll also bring:

  • A proven track record in a senior role ideally within the mining and/or waste management sector but similar experience in similar industry sectors will be considered
  • Excellent leadership, collaboration and communication skills
  • Strong relationship-building and stakeholder engagement capabilities
  • The commercial judgement to manage contract performance, risks and opportunities
  • A proactive, solutions-focused approach and the ability to innovate
  • A commitment to delivering excellence in existing contracts and an eye for future growth

If you’re ready to lead a talented team, strengthen important client partnerships and make a tangible impact in Australia’s essential services sector, we’d like to hear from you.
