Targeted Compensation: The targeted compensation range for this position is $110,000.00–$120,000.00 annually, depending on qualifications, skills, and relevant experience. This role is also eligible for a 10% KEIP bonus.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Contracts Manager is responsible for managing the Busch Group contracts function, with primary responsibility for the review, drafting, negotiation, administration, and lifecycle management of customer and supplier contracts, including government contracts. The position requires strong commercial contracting experience and the ability to identify and manage contractual, commercial, and compliance risks while supporting business objectives. The Contracts Manager will work closely with Sales, Procurement, Supply Chain, Finance, Service, Operations, Engineering, and Legal to ensure contracts are reviewed and executed in accordance with Busch contracting standards, approval requirements, and applicable laws and regulations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Responsible for the day-to-day management of customer and supplier contracts across Busch Group, serving as a primary point of contact for contractual matters and explaining contract terms, obligations, and risks to internal stakeholders.
  • Manage the contract lifecycle from intake through review, drafting, redlining, negotiation, approval, execution, amendment, renewal, and closeout for customer and supplier agreements, including government contracts, non-disclosure agreements, purchase and supply agreements, sales and service agreements, pricing agreements, and other commercial arrangements.
  • Draft, review, redline, and negotiate customer and supplier contracts to protect Busch’s interests, appropriately allocate risk, and support the Company’s commercial objectives and contracting standards.
  • Review government contracts and related requirements, including applicable Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS) clauses, and identify contractual and compliance obligations applicable to Busch.
  • Identify FAR, DFARS, and other government-contract requirements that must be flowed down to suppliers and work with Procurement and other stakeholders to ensure required flow-down provisions are incorporated into supplier contracts and purchase terms.
  • Assess key contractual provisions, including pricing and payment terms, warranties, indemnification, limitation of liability, insurance, intellectual property, confidentiality, cybersecurity, data protection, export controls, delivery, acceptance, termination, changes, audit rights, and other material commercial obligations.
  • Lead contract negotiations within Busch’s established contracting standards and approval framework, developing negotiation strategies and coordinating required business, Finance, Compliance, and Legal input for material deviations or elevated risks.
  • Collaborate closely with Sales, Procurement, Supply Chain, Service, Engineering, Operations, Finance, Quality, Compliance, and other stakeholders throughout the contract lifecycle to ensure business requirements, contractual commitments, and supplier obligations are appropriately aligned.
  • Manage contract activities independently and efficiently, maintain appropriate contract records, support visibility into contractual obligations and renewals, and help ensure contracts are negotiated, approved, executed, and administered in accordance with Company processes and timelines.
  • Supervise and develop Contracts team personnel, support consistent contracting practices and training across the organization, stay current on commercial contracting practices and applicable government-contract requirements, and perform special projects as assigned.

SKILLS & ABILITIES

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Legal Studies, Law, Business Law, or a related legal discipline required; Juris Doctor (JD), LL.B., LL.M., or other advanced legal qualification preferred.

Experience:

  • Minimum 6-8 years of progressively responsible commercial contract experience, preferably in a legal, contracts, or corporate legal department environment, involving the drafting, review, negotiation, and administration of customer and supplier contracts
  • Prior experience managing or supervising contracts personnel and/or leading a contracts function: Preferred
  • Demonstrated experience reviewing and negotiating both customer and supplier contracts, including complex commercial terms and risk allocation
  • Working knowledge and practical experience with FAR and DFARS requirements applicable to government contracts, including identification and flow-down of applicable clauses and requirements to suppliers.
  • Hands-on contract management experience, including contract redlining, negotiation, approval workflows, contract lifecycle management, and coordination with Sales, Procurement, Supply Chain, Finance, Operations, Compliance, and Legal.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial contracting concepts and the ability to interpret and negotiate legal and business terms across customer, supplier, and government contracts. Experience with applicable government contracting requirements, including FAR, DFARS, and related regulations, is required.

Computer Skills: Proficient use of MS Office Products: Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint. Prior experience with ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) and CRM (Customer Relationship Management) systems is a plus.
