JSM Utility Services (EU) GmbH, whilst supported by the wider JSM Group, is a startup business seeking to expand rapidly to service both existing and new clients and is at the forefront of JSM European expansion.
SCOPE OF ROLE
Act as national primary point of contact for any issue relating to Health, Safety, Environment and Quality (SHEQ) for JSM Utility Services (EU) GmBH, supporting other European projects and expansion.
Ensure the provision of professional advice and digital solutions, ensuring compliance with legislation, clients, contractual requirements and best practice.
Work collaboratively with the Group SHEQ Director and UK SHEQ team, to align with JSM overarching standards and requirements.
HOW YOU`LL SUCCEED
✔ Act as visible SHEQ champion, setting an example demonstrating JSM’s values and behaviors.
· Lead others through expertise, influence and coaching of stakeholders, to prevent harm, damage or loss
✔ Working with the UK SHEQ Team
Oversee the development and implementation of a documented SHEQ Management System, aligned to relevant national legislation, client and JSM overarching requirements, adopting relevant digital systems.
Obtain and maintain ISO 9001, 14001, 45001 and 27001 accreditations with a focus on simplification of procedures/processes.
✔ Support in design activities to ensure SHEQ considerations for construction and operations are appropriately planned. Relevant monthly HSE KPI’s for JSM Utility Services (EU) GmBH.
✔ Support in the selection, SHEQ assessment and monitoring of sub-contractors.
✔ Develop and implement a proactive monitoring and assurance programme ensuring that all requirements of the HSE management system are followed accordingly by all parties.
✔ Ensure the reporting (including statutory & client reporting requirements) of all relevant SHEQ performance measures. Using SHEQ data to inform objective performance conversation with internal resources, sub-contractors and where appropriate clients.
✔ Lead and manage site based SHEQ functional resources ensuring;
Relevant pre-construction SHEQ information, including site induction information are shared with relevant subcontractors to ensure a common understanding of risks and control approach
Compilation, review and ongoing maintenance of project SHEQ documentation and welfare set up. Including but not limited to, Risk Registers, Method Statements, Risk Assessment and Emergency Plans etc. and ensuring alignment between JSM and sub-contractor plans and documentation
Comprehensive Investigation of all accidents / incidents / utility damages, establish the root causes, and necessary preventative measures. Compiling/Approving the required reports in a timely manner
Delivery of relevant site based SHEQ Awareness Training/Toolbox Talks/ Workshops
Delivery of relevant proactive monitoring activity (audits, inspection, observations) on site
✔ Promote physical and mental health and wellbeing campaigns and initiatives to improve participation and engagement
✔ Maintain awareness of relevant Client and JSM procedures and other requirements. Discharge your specific duties for matters regarding HSE as defined in the company policies and procedures, efficiently and effectively
OTHER DUTIES
✔ Support further work winning activity, including Client PQQ and tender submissions. Review sub-contractor Pre-Qualification Questionnaires (PQQ’s) and tender responses to assess their competency and effectiveness of their HSE Management systems
✔ Lead client-facing SHEQ presentations during tender and mobilisation phases to showcase JSM’s capability and commitment
✔ Support expansion of JSM into other Northern European/Nordic countries and wider European Union.
✔ Support wider risk and governance activity e.g. Data protection, Change and Enterprise Risk Management
✔ Work collaboratively with other supporting functions to ensure alignment and prioritisation of initiatives and improvement activity
✔ Undertake any other reasonable duties assigned that are consistent with the role and within the boundary of experience and competency
QUALIFICATIONS
📜 A Minimum 5 years of experience in HSE or Quality roles preferably within the Data Centre, High voltage Electrical and/or Construction sectors
📜 Bachelor’s degree in HSE, Quality, Engineering or a related field
📜 Strong knowledge of German regulations, and HSE certifications
📜 Familiarity with digital systems, tools and project management systems (e.g. Procore)
📜 Experience in the use of Artificial Intelligence to automate administrative processes and improve efficiency.
📜 Knowledge of ISO 9001, 14001 & 45001 and other industry accreditation
📜 Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Project, and Outlook
📜 Fluent German and English (speaking and writing)
📜 Experience of data protection requirements and enterprise risk management (desirable)
