As the Contract Manager you will lead the provision of contract management services to Sales and Purchase teams ensuring all contract management activities are executed in accordance with regulations and processes including Contract Management Framework and General Terms & Conditions. Your expertise in contract management might also extend to the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and/ or other areas of law. You will work closely with the Legal Function and Contract Management community and supporting sales/purchase teams during tendering and execution phase. You will work within a complex international environment where it is expected that your ability to solve problems and proactively tackle issues adds value to Sales/Purchases teams.
Your responsibilities
- Preparation of various legal documents (contracts, statements, proposals, resolutions etc.)
- Legal risk assessment related to contracts and projects including public procurement tenders
- Participation in a risk review approval process
- Supporting negotiations with customers and suppliers
- Validation of contract´s translations (English as a business language at Hitachi Group)
- For contracts, ensure compliance with internal policies and instructions, applicable laws, and implement policies and instructions
- Cooperation and interaction with Legal Function and other Hitachi Energy units
- Participation in other projects related to Legal or company matters
- Provides legal training and awareness for employees in the business
Your background
- University law degree
- Minimum 7 years of experience in contractual risks assessment/management, contracts drafting and checking, and/or in execution/project environment
- Knowledge and experience in Ukrainian Civil Law required for contractual support to domestic market projects (various types of commercial contracts)
- Knowledge of Public Procurement law
- Labor law and / or corporate law will be an asset
- Solid understanding of change management, claim management and contract related legal issues during both tender and project phases
- Ability to resolve disputes and manage dispute resolution in cooperation with Legal Function
- Site-based experience and technical knowledge of electrical products and solutions is an added advantage
- Attention to Detail: Meticulous and highly organized, with a sharp eye for nuance and accuracy - ensuring precision in every document, decision, and deliverable
Fluency in Ukrainian and English (legal terminology)
