
Project Lesotho Highlands Water Project – Phase II - Polihali Transfer Tunnel

Location Katse or Polihali tunnel sites in the Lesotho Highlands
Reports to the Chief Resident Engineer or as instructed by the Project Manager.
Primary Position Purpose
MSKC Joint Venture are the Professional Services Consultants for the design and construction supervision of the Polihali Transfer Tunnel Lesotho Highlands Water Project-Phase II project. The new Polihali Transfer Tunnel will connect the new Polihali Dam with the Katse Reservoir, which delivers water through Transfer and Delivery Tunnels, to the Ash River Outfall between Clarens and Bethlehem in South Africa.
This position will be required to support to the Engineer in all contractual issues as well as prepare monthly payment certificates.
High Level Role Description and Duties:
Monthly measurement and payment certificates.
Interpretation of the Contracts including the processes relating to the adjudication of claims.
Support to the Engineer in all contractual issues.
The position is full-time in Lesotho.
The Assistant Contracts Engineer’s experience could be less than prescribed and will be assisting the Contracts Engineer in the above-described role and duties.
Required Experience & Qualifications
Must hold a degree in Civil Engineering or Quantity Surveying and be registered as a Professional Engineer or an approved equivalent.
Must have a minimum of fifteen (15) years of post-graduate experience in civil engineering works.
Must have at least ten (10) years of experience as a Contract Engineer or Quantity Surveyor on major civil works projects.
Must have at least ten (10) years of experience working with FIDIC contracts.
Must have proven experience in contractual matters, including claims evaluation.
