Hitachi Rail is looking for an enthusiastic self-motivated Contract Change Manager with experience in change management and who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate is comfortable performing a wide range of tasks from administrative to strategic. The position is based in Brisbane, Australia

The Contract Change Manager will play a critical role in an expanding portfolio of works packages that relate to the ETCS Alliance framework for the Cross River Rail Project, Queensland. The successful candidate will join an established team of contract professionals to support the delivery of this exciting program of works.

Key responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the management and assessment of upstream changes in accordance with the mechanisms within the contract and alliance change management process

  • Proactively engage with key stakeholders to ensure change management process is implemented in a timely manner

  • Responsible for maintaining the change register and preparing the associated progress reports

  • Support the preparation of contractual correspondence to be issued to the customer as required

  • Collaborating with project managers to ensure compliance with the terms set out within the upstream agreement with the customer

  • Liaising with counterparts within the alliance and the customer organisation to manage changes and adherence to both internal and alliance governance processes

  • Liaising with stakeholders to develop relationships within a collaborative alliance setting

Skills & Experience:

  • A bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent technical background

  • Proven experience in a risk sharing alliance model would be advantageous in the role

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Attention to detail and organisational abilities

  • Knowledge and experience of working on complex rail projects is preferrable

  • Previous experience in quantity surveying or similar skills would be considered an advantage in this role

  • Able to work within a team and adopt a proactive problem-solving approach
