WORK LOCATION:San Luis Obispo, CA

FLSA STATUS:Exempt

SALARY RANGE:Theanticipatedsalary range for this role is$90,000to$120,000annually This range reflects a good faith estimate based on the targeted level for the role and typical compensation benchmarks across U.S. locations. Actual compensation may vary depending on the selected candidate’s qualifications, experience, geographicallocation,and internal alignment.

The Continuous Improvement (CI) Engineer is critical to the success of Edge Autonomy by enhancing performance of our processes and activities with CI strategies and/or tools. The CI Engineer creates the conditions to promote improvement, innovation, related CI methodologies, and best practices.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The following job functions are a basic requirement but are not limited to and may be assigned other duties.

  • To help create the framework and process for improvement activities such as workshops, projects, ideas, etc.
  • To help develop the strategic CI plan for the site
  • To identify the resources and negotiate their support with the sponsor for improvement activities
  • To implement ambitious improvement projects using Continuous Improvement methods such as Lean Sigma
  • To drive sustainment of CI activities using change management
  • To support and lead other site strategic projects
  • Communicate, discuss, and listen to challenges with management, teammates, etc.
  • To share lessons learned with management team and other stakeholders
  • To create, develop, and deploy improvement training such as Lean, 5S+1, Process Mapping, etc.
  • To coach and facilitate improvement projects in all departments based on Site needs
  • Assumes all other responsibilities as assigned

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

The following are a non-exhaustive list of qualifications for the position:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering/business/operations
  • 2+ years of experience in the following areas: Continuous Improvement, Manufacturing, Supply Chain; Production; Quality; Engineering; Information Technology; Logistics or Production Planning.
  • Knowledge of the project management and risks management
  • Knowledge of the Lean Sigma tools and methods
  • Proficiency in the use of common software packages including MS Office suite - Word, Excel, Outlook, Project, PowerPoint, Visio
  • Strong communication skills (verbal & written) to work with cross functional team members
  • Proficiency in facilitation and coaching
  • Ability to solve complex problems
  • Preferred Skill: Lean Sigma Green Belt Certified or higher

This position may require access to information that is subject to compliance with the International Traffic Arms Regulations (“ITAR”) and/or the Export Administration Regulations (“EAR”). WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

The work environment may involve a standard office setting while also incorporating elements of a production area. Employees will use standard office equipment, including computers, and must demonstrate stamina to sit or stand while maintaining attention to detail despite potential interruptions. The role may require occasional activities such as walking, climbing, stooping, crouching, and bending. Vision is necessary for reading printed materials and a computerscreen,while hearing and speech are essential for effective communication both in person and over the telephone. Additionally, the position may necessitate travel by air or automobile. Employees may be required to use personal protective equipment, including safety glasses, safety shoes, and shop coats, to ensure safety in the production environment. Employees may be able tolift upto30pounds as needed.
