The Continuous Improvement (CI) Engineer will be responsible for identifying, developing and implementing strategies to enhance the efficiency, quality, and overall performance of the manufacturing process. Collects data and analyzes current operating procedures to determine and implement corrective actions. The CI Engineer will work alongside the operations team to brainstorm, research and drive improvement initiatives.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supports and leads process optimization initiatives and continuous improvement operations
  • Identifies and monitors for areas of process/production lag, high costs, materials inefficiency and shortages
  • Promotes and notifies affected parties of the implementation of new continuous improvement processes and adoption of lean manufacturing practices
  • Collect and analyze data to identify trends, root causes and opportunities for improvement
  • Analyze current production data and report all findings to managers and operation
  • Ensure that all processes and improvements adhere to industry standards, safety regulations, and company policies.
  • Work closely with production teams, engineering, and quality assurance to implement and sustain improvements
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree engineering or related field
  • Engineering experience in the automotive industry
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and deliver results within specified timelines
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to use data-driven insights to identify improvement opportunities and track performance

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Self-directed and motivated
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze complex processes and data.

Communication Skills

Must possess strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills effectively in Business English.

Physical Requirements

  • Work in a manufacturing environment that may include equipment noise, temperature variations, and dust
  • Perform job duties that require standing, walking, sitting, bending, reaching, and moving throughout the workday
  • Work safely in compliance with OSHA, EPA, and all applicable regulatory standards
  • Communicate, observe, and interpret information necessary to perform job duties, with or without assistive devices
  • Understand and follow written and verbal instructions related to safety, quality, and operations
  • Occasionally move or handle tools, materials, equipment, or documents
  • When required, lift or move items up to 10 pounds without assistance
  • When lifting, pushing, pulling, or transporting heavier items (up to 50 pounds or more), company-provided assistive or mechanical devices will be used
