Footsteps Community Services (FCS):

Footsteps is a for-purpose organisation with ambition to support the community nationally, specifically people who have been marginalised or those at risk to be. The organisation provides a range of services including:

  • Support Coordination.

Footstep specifically services young people and families as well as older Australians. The team is a group of multi-disciplinary professionals committed to making a difference in the life of the people we serve.

of the Position:

  • The RN is employed to deliver continence assessments as allocated by Footsteps (i.e. a piece of work). Those assessments are conducted for both NDIS and other clients. The conduction of assessment might require for the RN to travel and visit clients face to face.
  • The RN is responsible for the quality of their work and for the assessment to be conducted within the timeframe and guidelines provided as well as for providing their own support (car, IT, phone…).
  • The RN must use Footsteps’ provided templates and work instructions to complete the allocated continence assessments

Accountability:

The Registered Nurse is directly responsible to the Director of Nursing and might connect through Footsteps Nursing liaison Officer.

Main responsibilities:

  1. Connect with clients allocated by Footsteps continence assessments.
  2. Attend appointments at the rostered times.
  3. Engage with clients in a professional and age-appropriate way.
  4. Respond to clients’ questions regarding the services.
  5. Complete the assessment while following Footsteps, NDIS and other programs’ guidelines.
  6. Provide a draft assessment back to Footsteps within the time allocated.
  7. Compete clients’ notes and other reports as requested.
  8. Fulfill professional and registration’s obligation at all times.

Mandatory selection criteria:

  • Hold a current Working with Children card, NDIS Worker Screening and first aid qualifications.
  • Have a valid nursing qualification and registration with AHPRA.
  • A minimum of 2-year experience in a similar role.
  • Functional experience of nursing and demonstrated knowledge of major nursing assessment.
  • Have completed or ready to complete the NDIS Onboarding and Footsteps mandatory training.
  • Strong report writing and excellent communication skills.
  • Access to a roadworthy vehicle, and current driver’s license.
  • Must have own Professional Indemnity Insurances.
