Job Description

As a Content Writer, you'll be a key contributor to the written content and creative vision for our in-house agency team. You will play a vital role in developing compelling content for a large portfolio of alco-bev brands in the fast-paced environment of a social media newsroom. You’ll combine your strong creative talent, with a particular emphasis on copywriting and content creation, and an understanding of visual trends with a deep knowledge of social media dynamics, social listening, and in-culture content creation.

Reporting to the Creative Director or Associate Creative Director, you’ll be instrumental in ensuring our client's brands not only stand out but also resonate deeply with target audiences in the ever-evolving digital landscape. This is a mid-to-senior level position for a highly creative and strategic thinker with a solid track record of developing and executing impactful campaigns in the social media space.

Key Responsibilities

Creative Development & Execution

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of innovative creative strategies that align with brand identities and marketing objectives across all social media platforms (TikTok, Instagram, Twitter/X, YouTube, etc.).
  • Develop compelling copy and content for various social media formats, including captions, scripts, stories, and social-first articles, ensuring a consistent brand voice and tone.
  • Leverage provided AI powered tools to enhance efficiency in the creative content output.
  • Collaborate with designers and art directors to create visually engaging content, providing direction and feedback to ensure copy and visuals work harmoniously.

In-Culture Content & Storytelling

  • Play a key role in the development of content that taps into current trends, memes, hashtags, and cultural moments, with a focus on crafting engaging narratives.
  • Integrate social listening insights into the creative process, ensuring content is relevant, resonant, and drives engagement, with a strong emphasis on impactful storytelling.
  • Contribute to the creation of authentic and culturally relevant content that speaks to diverse audiences and fosters brand affinity through powerful and persuasive copy.

Collaboration & Communication

  • Work closely with strategy analysts, designers, art directors, and content creators, providing clear direction and feedback on copy and content development.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including social media managers, strategists, and account managers, to align creative execution with overall campaign goals.
  • Present creative concepts and copy ideas effectively to internal teams and stakeholders.

Brand Voice & Messaging

  • Ensure all written communications adhere to brand guidelines and maintain a consistent brand voice and tone across all social media touchpoints.
  • Contribute to elevating the written aesthetic and messaging of our brands, pushing creative boundaries while staying true to brand values and target audience expectations.
  • Uphold the highest standards of creative excellence, ensuring all written content reflects the premium quality of our client's alco-bev portfolio.

Performance & Optimization

  • Monitor and analyze the performance of content, using data and analytics to inform creative decisions and optimize future campaigns, with a focus on copy effectiveness.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance engagement and drive key metrics, such as reach, impressions, engagement and conversions, through compelling copywriting and content strategies.
  • Stay up-to-date on platform algorithm changes and best practices to maximize the impact of written content.

Role Requirements

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Creative Writing, Marketing, or a related field.

Experience:

  • 3+ years of experience in copywriting or content creation, with a strong focus on social media.
  • A proven track record of developing and executing successful creative campaigns, with a portfolio showcasing strong copywriting skills.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, digital-first environment, preferably within an agency or in-house creative team.

Skills & Knowledge:

  • Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with a mastery of tone, voice, and style.
  • Strong understanding of social media platforms, including TikTok, Instagram, Twitter/X, YouTube, and emerging platforms.
  • Strong knowledge of storytelling principles, content strategy, and social media best practices.
  • Excellent understanding of social media analytics and the ability to use data to inform creative decisions, particularly in relation to copy performance.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and collaboration skills.
  • Strong understanding of Gen-Z and Millennial culture, internet trends, and online communities.
