Brooklyn College Community Partnership (BCCP) seeks a part-time Content Specialist to curate and manage program content for its DYCD-funded COMPASS programs. The Content Specialist oversees and supports the implementation of activities led by Activity Specialists, Group Leaders, and other instructors, and collaborates with the BCCP team and school administration to review and select appropriate curricula. The Content Specialist supports staff through observation, coaching, training, and professional development to ensure program quality.

The Content Specialist participates in ongoing professional development and contributes to a culture of collaboration and continuous learning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Curate and manage program content aligned with program objectives, promoting youth social, emotional, and physical well-being while complementing school-day learning.

  • Collaborate with the BCCP team and school administration to identify and select curricula, as needed, to support participants’ academic and social-emotional growth.

  • Provide staff (e.g., Activity Specialists, Group Leaders, and other instructors) support through observation, supervision, coaching, training, and professional development to maintain high program quality.

  • Review and, if necessary, develop lesson plans for scheduled activities.

  • Dedicate at least 9 hours per week to each assigned program (up to 3 programs).

  • Lead the implementation of Mental Health Supports (template provided) by ensuring staff comply with DYCD’s mental health requirements.

  • Comply with NYC DOE, DOHMH, DYCD, and NYS SACC regulations.

  • Communicate program needs and share feedback with the Leadership Team.

  • Attend weekly check-ins with supervisor and participate in ongoing professional development provided by BCCP and DYCD’s professional development partners.

  • Carry out additional duties as needed to support the evolving needs of the program.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree with at least 1 year of experience in a supervisory position, including management and development of program content, staff supervision, training, and coaching.

  • Advanced knowledge of NYC DOE Public School system

  • Strong organizational and communication skills

  • Commitment to equity and to implementing culturally responsive teaching practices

  • Strong interest in community work and youth development

  • Proficient in MS Office and Google Workspace

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday (2 - 5:30 pm, 19 hours per week)

About BCCP: The Brooklyn College Community Partnership (BCCP), operating under the fiscal sponsorship of RFCUNY, is a community-based organization that provides youth development programs connecting Brooklyn College with surrounding neighborhoods. Through after-school and extracurricular initiatives in NYC Public Schools and at the Brooklyn College Art Lab (BCAL), BCCP offers holistic, interdisciplinary programming rooted in the principles of Positive Youth Development. Our activities empower students, spark creativity, and support their academic, social-emotional, and developmental growth while strengthening connections among youth, families, and the broader community.

Pay Range:

$35 per hour
