Position Summary
The Content & Social Media Manager builds content across every channel for McLean & Company – social media, email, and other marketing assets. This is a content-production role; this person builds the social, email, and marketing content bringing McLean's HR research and insights to life in whatever format the channel calls for. The social media team owns video editing, and production this role focuses on content creation and strategic input across social, email, and marketing assets.
Key Responsibilities
Content Creation (Social, Email & Marketing Assets) (~70%)
- Develop creative, research-based content – including short videos, graphics, memes, and copy – that brings McLean & Company's HR insights to life.
- Translate complex research findings into engaging, platform-appropriate formats that spark conversation and drive thought leadership.
- Write and produce email content – newsletters, nurture sequences, and campaign emails – that reflects McLean's voice and drives engagement.
- Develop marketing assets beyond social and email, including sales enablement content and campaign creative, as needed.
- Storyboard and script original content across platforms, with a focus on LinkedIn and emerging social trends.
- Ensure all content aligns with brand voice, quality standards, and campaign objectives.
Social Media Strategy (~15%)
- Set and evolve McLean & Company's social media strategy – platform focus, content pillars, and cadence – in alignment with marketing goals.
- Contribute to employee advocacy and thought leadership initiatives by equipping internal stakeholders with social-ready content.
- Partner with the social media team to schedule, post, monitor, and report on social media performance.
Production Collaboration (~15%)
- Partner with the production team on video editing and production support, providing clear creative direction, scripts, and briefs.
- Manage content pipelines, timelines, and resources to ensure consistent delivery at scale.
- Collaborate with research, marketing, and design teams to ensure messaging is accurate, impactful, and timely.
Qualifications
- 5+ years in journalism, communications, or content marketing, with experience finding compelling stories in complex B2B subject matter and turning research or data into engaging, platform-native content.
- Strong writer, comfortable across formats – social, email, and longer-form content.
- Comfortable managing multiple channels and a high volume of content.
- Experience briefing or partnering with a video/production team is a plus.

- Analytical mindset: able to interpret performance data and optimize accordingly.
- Collaborative, adaptable, and proactive team player with a keen eye for detail.
Language Skills: Bilingual proficiency in French, Spanish or German is preferred to support our diverse client base across North America and globally.
