Reporting directly to the Asia-Pacific Head of Marketing (based in Singapore), the Content Manager, Asia-Pacific will be key to helping our consultants share their thought leadership, increase their visibility and grow our business. It’s an exciting and rewarding role. It presents a unique opportunity to grow within a very successful organisation where quality and effective writing is respected and appreciated. Milliman is a B2B company in a very niche area of financial services and the role will lead to a specialization in writing to target a few different target segments within the industry.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Understand the company, its various teams/Practices, service offering and customer segments.
  • Support the consulting team with ghost-writing or leveraging their thought leadership by writing, editing or proofreading to help deliver marketing and PR objectives, including:
    • Various short papers, articles and newsletters distributed to clients via email
    • Articles in various publications
    • Content for the various country web-pages
    • Regular content for social media, blogs and forums
    • Write-ups for events and sponsorships
    • Press releases
  • Ensure correct usage of language (British English v/s American English as appropriate), correct tonality and Milliman styling in all external communication.
  • Work across markets and time zones and with various stakeholders including the Practices, marcomms/creative, media relations, legal, office administrators, agencies and external vendors to help deliver the marketing plan.
  • Define delivery timelines, working with the Head of Marketing & PR to assign priorities for work and communicate these with stakeholders as appropriate.
  • Work with the marketing manager and the rest of the marcomms team to utilise online and offline channels to promote thought leadership and events.
  • Ensure that Milliman and Asia-Pacific marketing/PR approval processes are followed and never compromised before any external release/publication.
  • Publishing on social media to a plan/schedule as agreed upon in advance.
  • Refine processes and introduce suggestions to increase efficiency and effectiveness of content creation and delivery.

Mandatory Skills, Attributes and qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in any discipline.
  • Flawless written and verbal English communication skills with strong command over grammar, usage and spelling in English.
  • Ability to write clearly and concisely in Business English.
  • At least two years experience as either a journalist, media writer, PR professional, blogger or social media content creator for a BFSI brand/ business publication/ finance-related website.
  • At least eight years of overall relevant work experience.
  • Proven experience to working with tight timelines.
  • Detailed-oriented, high accuracy in writing and proofreading essential.
  • Prior experience of interacting with senior stakeholders.
  • Self-driven. Able to work independently while still working within a broader team and framework.
  • Excellent Word skills and prior working experience with LinkedIn.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

  • Degree (either Bachelor’s or Master’s) in a business discipline or journalism or communication.
  • Worked in a similar capacity on either agency or client for a large financial services company.
