THE GIG:

We’re looking for an experienced and commercially minded iHeartRadio Content Director to lead the content strategy for one of New Zealand’s leading digital audio platforms.

This is a pivotal role in NZME’s ambition to be number one in audio. Working closely with the Head of Digital Audio and teams across content and commercial, you’ll help deliver outstanding digital audio experiences for audiences and advertisers. Your focus will be on growing audience reach, increasing listening and engagement, and creating new revenue opportunities.

HOW YOU'LL MAKE IT HAPPEN:

You’ll lead the development and execution of iHeartRadio’s content strategy across news, sport, music, radio and podcasts. From programming streams and playlists to developing new content partnerships, you’ll make sure our content is fresh, relevant and designed around audience needs.

You’ll also:

  • Lead the day-to-day execution of the iHeartRadio content strategy, ensuring content is targeted, well-crafted and delivered to a high standard

  • Drive iHeartRadio’s cross-promotion across NZME’s network to build awareness and listener adoption

  • Use audience and performance data to improve reach, engagement, registrations and listening

  • Programme and optimise streams and playlists for different target audiences

  • Support the successful launch and promotion of iHeartRadio product releases and app updates in New Zealand

  • Manage the programming of iHeartRadio’s in-store radio offering

  • Lead the content strategy for the iHeartRadio NZ Podcast Network across both new shows and the existing catalogue

WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO THE TEAM:

You’re an experienced audio or media leader who combines strong content instincts with a clear understanding of audiences, platforms and commercial outcomes.

  • At least five years’ experience in a relevant industry

  • Strong radio or audio experience and a relevant qualification

  • A track record of developing content that grows audiences and engagement

  • Confidence working with data and performance metrics to inform decisions

  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills

  • The ability to collaborate effectively across content, commercial, product and marketing teams

  • A curious, adaptable and proactive approach

  • A genuine passion for audio, podcasts, music and emerging listening behaviours

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE:

Success in this role will be reflected in the growth of digital radio listening hours and monthly reach, podcast downloads and performance, active app and web users, app downloads, registrations and overall iHeartRadio brand recognition.

WHO YOU'LL BE JOINING:

At NZME, we’re committed to delivering exceptional content to audiences across New Zealand. We live our values of being Connected, Curious and Confident, embracing innovation and making a difference every day.

You’ll join a collaborative business with some of New Zealand’s best-known media and audio brands, with the opportunity to help define the next chapter of digital audio.

If you’re ready to lead bold content ideas, grow audiences and help shape the future of audio in New Zealand, we’d love to hear from you.
