Who We Are

The Orthodox Union (OU) is one of the largest Orthodox Jewish organizations in the United States. Founded in 1898, the OU supports a network of synagogues, youth programs, Jewish and Religious Zionist advocacy programs, programs for the disabled, localizedreligious study programs, and international units. The OU maintains a kosher certification service, whose circled U symbol,, is found on the labels of many kosher commercial and consumer food products.

NCSY, a project of the Orthodox Union, connects with Jewish teens through innovative, cutting-edge social and recreational programs to develop a positive Jewish identity. NCSY Inspires Jewish teens and their connection to Israel through informal Jewish education, retreats and summer programs. NCSY empowers teens through leadership development and guidance to become passionately committed leaders of the Jewish community and instruments for positive change and renewal. NCSY is the premier organization dedicated to connect, inspire and empower Jewish teens and encourage passionate Judaism through Torah and Tradition.

NCSY Canada is headquartered in Toronto, with branch offices in Ottawa, Montreal, and Vancouver, and programs serving smaller Jewish communities.

This summer role is ideal for a student or recent graduate looking to build a well-rounded creative portfolio that goes beyond social media to include impactful, real-world design work across an organization. You will split your time between capturing authentic, unscripted moments in the field and designing how those moments are shared through engaging digital content and visual communications. Working closely with leadership, you’ll help bring the organization’s mission to life through creative storytelling, consistent branding, and innovative content strategies.

This position is a summer role (8 weeks), Toronto-based, hybrid, with evening travel required.

Responsibilities

Content Creation

  • Travel to programs across the GTA (primarily evenings)
  • Capture real, unscripted moments of teen engagement
  • Film and produce short-form video content (Reels, TikTok, BTS)
  • Edit and package content for Instagram, TikTok, and digital use
  • Produce3–5 pieces of content per week

Digital Design & Communications

  • Design visual assets for:
    • Email newsletters
    • Program promotions
    • Social media graphics
    • Event materials
  • Support formatting and layout of:
    • Donor proposals
    • Impact reports
    • Internal templates
  • Helpmaintainconsistent visual brandingacross platforms
  • Create simple, reusable templates (Canva or similar)

Collaboration & Creative Input

  • Work with leadership to bring the organization’s mission to life
  • Contribute ideas for how we communicate impact visually and digitally
  • Help evolve how NCSY shows up across content and design

Who This Is For

Requirements

  • Access to a reliable vehicle and a valid driver’s license
  • Experience with both:
    • Short-form video content
    • Basic graphic design/layout
  • Confidence engaging with teens in a natural and respectful way
  • Alignment with Jewish community values and interest in meaningful work
