About Traversal

Traversal is the AI Site Reliability Engineer (AI SRE) for the enterprise.

Production complexity was already outpacing what engineering teams could manage manually, and AI-generated code is accelerating that gap. Traversal is built for that challenge, autonomously understanding and reasoning across even the largest, most complex production environments to diagnose, fix, and prevent incidents. The Role

We’re looking for a strong writer and creative thinker to find interesting, unexpected ways to tell Traversal’s story. You’ll help shape our content and social strategy and own our social channels and newsletter, while developing executive thought leadership, employee-led content, video series, and other ways to reach our audiences.

This role is ideal for someone who combines exceptional writing with strong creative instincts and wants to work across different types of content rather than stay in one lane. You’ll work closely with our Brand Designer to turn ideas into content that cuts through the noise, get close enough to complex technical topics to make them compelling, and help people across Traversal develop and share their own points of view.

We expect you to experiment with AI tools and use them to expand what you can do, but we believe original ideas, good taste, and strong writing matter more than ever in a world full of AI slop. There will be plenty of room to experiment with new channels and formats and come up with creative ways for Traversal to show up and stand out.

Responsibilities

• Help shape Traversal’s social and content strategy and own the day-to-day content calendar, identifying the stories, ideas, formats, and channels that can have the greatest impact
• Own day-to-day social content across Traversal’s channels, particularly LinkedIn and X, while exploring how we should show up on Reddit and other platforms
• Write thought leadership for Traversal’s founders and other leaders, and build programs that help engineers, researchers, and other employees develop and distribute their own content
• Develop and execute new content programs, including Traversal’s newsletter strategy, recurring video series, and other formats that give people a reason to keep paying attention
• Partner closely with our Brand Designer to develop creative concepts, campaigns, and social-first content that pair strong writing with visuals that stand out
• Contribute creative concepts and copy for advertising, out-of-home, product launches, events, and other brand moments
• Partner with our communications agency on media pitches, awards, and other opportunities to turn Traversal’s technology, customers, research, and people into compelling external stories
• Track what resonates across channels and continually experiment with new ideas, formats, distribution strategies, and AI-powered workflows to improve our content and extend its reach

Requirements

• 3–5 years of experience in content, social, brand, communications, or a related marketing role, ideally at a fast-growing technology company or startup
• Exceptional writing and editing skills, with the range to write everything from sharp social copy to newsletters and executive thought leadership, including in other people’s voices
• Strong creative instincts and a track record of finding fresh angles, hooks, formats, and ideas that earn attention rather than blend into the feed
• Deep understanding of social media and how content travels, particularly on LinkedIn and X, with strong instincts for what makes people stop, engage, and share
• Experience working with complex or technical subject matter and the curiosity to quickly develop fluency in AI, infrastructure, and the problems Traversal is solving
• Experience developing and managing content across different formats and programs, from social and newsletters to employee-led content and recurring series
• Comfortable moving between strategy and execution, managing multiple projects, and collaborating closely with designers, executives, technical teams, agencies, and other partners

Nice to Have

• Experience in AI, infrastructure, developer tools, cloud, observability, cybersecurity, or another adjacent technical category
• Experience growing a brand or executive presence on X, Reddit, or other channels beyond LinkedIn
• Experience developing creative concepts and copy for broader brand campaigns, including advertising, out-of-home, events, or other physical experiences
• Experience conceiving or producing video content, from developing the concept and script to working with external production partners

Compensation

We offer competitive compensation, startup equity, health insurance, and additional benefits. The U.S. base salary range for this full-time, in-person role in New York is $150,000 - $200,000, plus equity and benefits. Our salary ranges are based on location, level, and role. Individual compensation is determined by experience, skills, and job-related knowledge.
