Job Description

The Content Acquisition Manager role is part of the Content & Acquisitions team within Team17. This is a key role within the organisation and as a vital member of the business the role holder will be responsible primarily for evaluating content and IP opportunities from game developers, as well as sourcing new content as part of the Content Acquisition team.

In this pivotal role, the role holder will support critical initiatives that shape the future of Team17’s gaming portfolio, working closely with cross-functional teams and external partners to help curate commercially viable and high-quality games from passionate game developers around the world; then coordinating the management of those opportunities through our due-diligence process to contract negotiations and signing.

As Team17 continues to grow, it is crucial that to be successful in this role, the role holder is experienced in the process of game build evaluation with a strong understanding of commercial elements that can make games successful. They must be an effective communicator, a strategic thinker, with the ability to work well as part of a multi-disciplinary and cross-department effort to ensure we are working efficiently together in a fast-moving environment, to identify, target, and convert opportunities in order to maintain a leading position in the market.

Key Responsibilities

Evaluate a wide variety of games, often in early or in-development builds, setting up and troubleshooting builds where required, identifying technical issues, and ensuring appropriate access is provided to internal stakeholders.

Review incoming games and prototypes, providing clear and constructive feedback on gameplay, accessibility, strengths, risks and commercial potential, while developing an understanding of both developer and player perspectives.

Support the identification and progression of commercially promising games through Team17's Greenlight process, helping assess their suitability for the Team17 and wider Everplay publishing labels.

Prepare objective and insightful game evaluations and recommendations, communicating key findings and supporting investment discussions across games at different stages of development.

Contribute to Team17's Greenlight process by working closely with colleagues across Content, Production, Marketing and other departments to help identify and progress the strongest publishing opportunities.

Attendance at global industry events and conferences will be required, representing Team17.

Requirements

Experience evaluating game builds at various stages of development.

An eye for detail and an understanding of what makes a game great.

Good knowledge of the PC and console games market, with an interest across a broad range of genres, player trends and emerging titles.

Able to communicate game evaluations and feedback clearly and concisely, both verbally and through written reports for a variety of stakeholders.

Commercially aware, with a curiosity for identifying promising games, understanding market potential, and supporting opportunities from initial discovery through to evaluation.

Proactive and organised, able to manage multiple opportunities simultaneously, take ownership of tasks, and keep projects moving with appropriate guidance.

Excellent interpersonal and networking skills, with the ability to build strong face to face relationships with industry professionals and represent the company professionally at conferences, showcases, and other events

Experience working within CRM software packages or similar tools to maintain accurate records, track opportunities, and contribute to good data quality and pipeline management.

Previous experience within an indie games publisher is highly advantageous.
