Financial Product Specialist

Onsite | San Diego, CA

Compensation: $29.00 - $36.00 an hour

Actual compensation within this range will be determined by factors including experience, qualifications, skills, and internal equity.

We have an exciting opportunity for someone in our Contact Center team for someone who knows consumer lending, enjoys connecting with members, and loves finding the right financial solutions to help people reach their goals.   • It’s all about the member! Deliver an amazing member experience while helping with consumer loans, loan inquiries, new accounts, and account servicing.
  • Put your lending expertise to work! Interview members, review credit, process loan applications, communicate decisions and terms, and guide loans from application through funding.
  • Find the right solution! Ask great questions, understand members’ financial goals, and recommend products, services, and solutions that truly meet their needs.
  • You thrive in a fast-paced environment! Balance a high volume of calls, applications, follow-ups, and competing priorities while maintaining accuracy and excellent service.
  • Be someone the team can count on! Serve as a knowledgeable resource and team player while achieving service, sales, efficiency, and performance goals.
  • This is a great opportunity to really have an impact on an organization and in an established Network Services Team for a well-respected, established credit union in San Diego County known for its community and member centered focus.

Here is what we are looking for:

  • High School Diploma, G.E.D., or equivalent.
  • A minimum of 3 years of financial institution experience, including at least 2 years of consumer loan processing experience.
  • Call center experience is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of consumer lending and the ability to confidently walk members through the loan process from application through funding.
  • Excellent verbal communication, organization, member service, and sales skills.
  • Someone who can build relationships, ask great questions, uncover needs, and confidently recommend solutions.
  • A professional demeanor and the ability to succeed in a fast-paced, structured, and high-volume environment.
  • A collaborative team player who enjoys sharing knowledge and supporting others.
  • Microsoft Office experience, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Experience with MeridianLink and Symitar for Windows is preferred.
