General Summary (What is done and why)

The Consumer Loan Processor is responsible for supporting all equity and indirect loan processing activities, ensuring that loan applications are complete, accurate, and compliant with Credit Union guidelines and regulations. This role involves preparing documentation for underwriting and closing reviews, maintaining professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders, and processing both equity and indirect consumer loans. The Consumer Loan Processor will also evaluate and recommend improvements to departmental procedures and maintain knowledge of Credit Union products and services.

Essential Functions, in Priority Order (Majority of duties, but not meant to be all inclusive or prevent other duties from being assigned as necessary)

1.Responsible for providing support for all consumer loan processing duties.Review loan applications for accuracy and completeness, clarify missing or questionable information, and prepare files for closing and funding.Communicate loan status to involved parties.Time: 35%

2.Process, compile, and maintain documentation for indirect consumer loans, ensuring compliance with guidelines.Verify loan and membership documentation for accuracy and compliance prior to funding.Time: 25%

3.Establish and maintain professional relationships with members, mortgage professionals, network dealers, and internal staff.Communicate with dealers to obtain accurate information during the application process and collect required documentation for consumer loan funding.Time: 15%

4.Stay current with regulatory updates and complete required training as directed by management. Maintain a working knowledge of all Credit Union products and services related to both equity and consumer loans. Time: 10%

5. Track dealer incentives and ACH funding for consumer loans, issue incentive checks, and maintain dealer reserve chargeback tracking and billing reports. Time: 10%

6.Evaluate and recommend improvements to departmental processes and procedures for both equity and consumer loan operations. Time: 5%

Education (Minimum education required to perform the duties of this position)

· High school diploma or equivalent required.

Experience (Minimum experience required to perform the duties of this position)

In addition to the education requirement:

· Minimum of one year’s experience in financial industry or real estate required.

·MLS registration required upon hire.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (Minimum technical and communication skill levels and licenses/certificates normally required to perform the duties of this position)

Physical Demands (Physical effort generally associated with this position)

Work involves standing and walking for brief periods of time, but most work is done from a seated position. Must have mobility to move throughout the Credit Union, as necessary. There is potential for eyestrain from reading the computer screen. Deadlines, workloads, and pressure to achieve goals may cause increased stress levels.

Working Conditions (Typical working conditions associated with this type of work and environmental hazards, if any, that may be encountered in performing the duties of this position)

Internal - Work is normally performed in climate-controlled office environment, where exposure to conditions of extreme heat/cold, poor ventilation, fumes and gases is limited. Noise level is moderate and includes sounds of normal office equipment (computers, telephones, etc.). No known environmental hazards are encountered in normal performance of duties. Length of day is unpredictable; long hours may be required to accommodate deadlines or special meetings.

External - Some travel may be required; however, information on environmental conditions is not available.
