Microsoft Industry Solutions Delivery (ISD), part of the Microsoft Frontier Company, is seeking an experienced Consulting Project Manager to lead high-value, business-critical technology programmes for some of our largest enterprise, public sector and regulated industry customers.

As a Consulting Project Manager, you will play a critical leadership role in delivering programmes that help customers modernise operations, accelerate AI adoption, strengthen security and realise measurable business outcomes from Microsoft's technology investments.

This is an opportunity to work on some of Microsoft's most strategic customer engagements, collaborating with senior leaders, solution experts, architects and engineers across the Frontier Company ecosystem.

Responsibilities

What You'll Do

• Lead end-to-end delivery of complex customer engagements and transformation programmes.
• Build and maintain delivery plans, schedules, governance frameworks, RAID management and executive reporting.
• Manage project financial performance including forecasting, revenue recognition, margin management and scope control.
• Drive executive stakeholder engagement across customer and Microsoft leadership teams.
• Support presales activities by validating delivery approaches, identifying risks and ensuring delivery readiness.
• Facilitate programme governance, steering committees, operational reviews and executive reporting.
• Identify delivery risks and dependencies early, implementing effective mitigation strategies.
• Promote adoption of AI-enabled delivery practices and continuous improvement across customer engagements.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across consulting, architecture, engineering and account management.
• Ensure delivery quality, customer satisfaction and achievement of agreed business outcomes.
• Build trusted relationships with customer executives and serve as a key leader throughout programme delivery.

Qualifications

What We're Looking For

Essential Experience

• Extensive experience delivering complex IT, cloud, digital transformation or technology programmes.
• Strong project and programme management expertise across multiple delivery methodologies.
• Experience leading programmes or portfolios valued at £1m+.
• Proven experience managing senior stakeholder groups, including executive customer leadership.
• Commercial and financial management experience including forecasting, budgeting and project controls.
• Proven ability to lead virtual, cross-functional and geographically dispersed teams.
• Excellent communication, influencing and negotiation skills.
• Demonstrated ability to operate independently in ambiguous and fast-paced environments.
• Experience working directly with CIOs, CTOs, CISOs, Programme Directors, Senior Responsible Owners (SROs) and executive business sponsors.

Preferred Experience

Experience within one or more of the following sectors would be advantageous:

• Defence and National Security
• Central Government and Public Sector
• National Critical Infrastructure
• Banking and Financial Services
• Energy and Utilities
• Telecommunications
• Aerospace and Manufacturing

Additional experience in Azure, AI, Data, Security or Modern Work programmes is highly desirable.

Professional certifications such as PMP, PRINCE2, AgilePM, MSP or equivalent are desirable but are not a requirement.

Security and Customer Environment Considerations

This role may involve supporting customers across the UK Public Sector, Defence, National Critical Infrastructure (NCI), Financial Services and other highly regulated industries.

Successful candidates should be comfortable operating within complex, secure and regulated environments, balancing delivery excellence, governance, risk management and stakeholder engagement to achieve successful customer outcomes.

Candidates who already hold UK Security Check (SC) Clearance are welcomed, although this is not a requirement for the role. Candidates must be eligible for and willing to undergo SC and any customer-specific security or compliance processes associated with particular engagements.

Location and Working Pattern

The base location will depend on the successful candidate's home location and proximity to an appropriate Microsoft office. Hybrid working will be required, with a combination of home, Microsoft office and customer-site working depending on engagement needs. Travel to customer sites may be required.

Consulting Project Management IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across United Kingdom is £ 77,600.00 - £ 132,500.00 per year. Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
