Job Description

Leidos has an exciting opening for a FABIS Biometrics Subject Matter Expert. You will support the DOMEX Technology Platform (DTP) Data Processing Pipeline (DPP) advising and assisting Facial Automated Biometric Identification System (FABIS) technologists and operators developing and managing the FABIS platform. You will be available to support training, oversight, mentoring, and as-needed hands-on engagement with the FABIS codebase or platform to ensure effective delivery of FABIS development and O&M activities. You will work with DTP TO2 engineers and project managers to ensure clean transition and continued mission effectiveness of the FABIS system.

You will work closely with the team on the following key tasks

  • Attend routine or ad-hoc meetings to provide SME technical advise and assist support to the FABIS development and O&M team;
  • Review requirements, code, and work tickets supporting FABIS development;
  • Participate in occasional Program Increment or Sprint plan/review sessions as-needed;
  • Update and compose training and configuration documentation to ensure continued effective operation of the FABIS platform;
  • Produce and provide code, functions, scripts, or software configurations germane to ongoing FABIS support and development.

While most work is conducted on-site at our client location in Bethesda, MD, we offer a flexible schedule and, occasionally, some tasks may be performed remotely. Candidates must have a demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic and challenging environment and possess a solid understanding of the software development life cycle all while working within an Agile framework.

To be successful in this role you need these skills (required):

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a technical domain with 15+ years of prior relevant experience.
  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Ability to obtain a United States Government Top Secret/SCI security clearance with Polygraph.
  • Knowledge of how large-scale data processing systems are designed, specified, developed, manufactured, and operated with domain expertise in military intelligence applications.
  • Subject matter expertise for the Facial Automated Biometric Identification System (FABIS)
  • Particular expertise in biometric processing of DOMEX data
  • Subject matter expertise in standardized biometric data models including EBTS and EFT
  • Experience with AGILE practices
