A leading tertiary care hospital in Dubai, United Arab Emirates is expanding its thoracic and cardiothoracic surgery program and is inviting applications from highly skilled Consultant / Specialist Thoracic Surgeons to join its multidisciplinary surgical team.

Role Overview

• Position: Consultant / Specialist Thoracic Surgeon
• Location: Dubai, United Arab Emirates
• Hospital Type: Private / Government / Multispecialty / Tertiary Care (JCI-accredited)
• Experience Required: Minimum 3–5+ years post board certification
• Clinical Scope: Thoracic surgery, lung surgery, minimally invasive thoracic procedures, oncology

The successful candidate will deliver advanced surgical care for thoracic conditions, working closely with pulmonologists, oncologists, and critical care teams.

Eligibility & Board Recognition

We welcome applications from internationally trained thoracic surgeons with recognised qualifications such as:

• American Board of Thoracic Surgery
• UK CCT / FRCS (Thoracic Surgery)
• European Board Certification
• Royal College Certification (Canada)
• Australian Fellowship
• Arab Board
• MCh / DNB/ DM Thoracic Surgery / equivalent recognised sub-specialty qualification

Candidates should be eligible for Dubai Health Authority (DHA) / Department of Health Abu Dhabi (DOH) license conversion (full support provided).

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose and surgically manage thoracic conditions including lung cancer, pleural diseases, mediastinal tumors, and chest wall disorders
• Perform open and minimally invasive thoracic surgeries (VATS / robotic-assisted surgery)
• Manage thoracic oncology cases in collaboration with multidisciplinary tumor boards
• Conduct pre-operative evaluation and post-operative care, including ICU coordination
• Perform procedures such as lobectomy, pneumonectomy, decortication, and esophageal interventions (if applicable)
• Collaborate with pulmonology, oncology, radiology, and critical care teams
• Participate in emergency thoracic surgical services and trauma care
• Ensure compliance with clinical governance, patient safety, and international surgical standards
• Contribute to clinical audits, research, and continuous medical education
• Mentor junior doctors and surgical trainees
