Job Description

A leading multispecialty hospital in Dubai, United Arab Emirates is expanding its oral and maxillofacial surgery services and is seeking a qualified Consultant / Specialist Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon to join its multidisciplinary surgical and dental specialty team. The role focuses on providing advanced surgical care for conditions affecting the oral cavity, jaws, facial bones, and related soft tissues within a modern hospital environment supported by advanced imaging, specialised surgical facilities, and integrated specialty care.

This position offers an opportunity to practice comprehensive oral and maxillofacial surgery while collaborating with specialists in dentistry, plastic surgery, otolaryngology, oncology, and trauma care to deliver high-quality treatment for patients requiring complex facial and jaw procedures.

Role Overview

  • Position: Consultant / Specialist Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon
  • Location: Dubai, United Arab Emirates
  • Healthcare Setting: Multispecialty hospital with advanced surgical and dental specialty services
  • Experience Required: Minimum 3+ years post specialist or board certification
  • Practice Model: Combination of outpatient consultations, surgical procedures, and multidisciplinary treatment planning

The successful candidate will diagnose and surgically manage diseases, injuries, and structural conditions involving the mouth, jaws, face, and neck, ensuring high standards of patient safety and surgical care.

Qualifications & Requirements – Consultant / Specialist Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon

  • Medical/Dental degree (MBBS / BDS) followed by a recognised specialist qualification in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery
  • Recognised higher qualification such as:
  • MDS / DNB / FCPS (Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery)
  • American Board of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery
  • UK CCT / FRCS (Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery)
  • European Board Certification in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery
  • Royal College Certification (Canada)
  • Australian Fellowship (FRACDS or equivalent)
  • Arab Board in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery
  • Or equivalent internationally recognised qualification
  • Minimum 3–5 years post-specialisation experience in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery within a hospital or advanced clinical setting

Key Responsibilities – Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery

  • Diagnose and treat conditions affecting the oral cavity, jawbones, facial structures, and surrounding soft tissues
  • Perform surgical procedures including impacted wisdom tooth extraction, dental implant placement, corrective jaw surgery (orthognathic surgery), and facial trauma reconstruction
  • Manage facial fractures and traumatic injuries involving the jaw, cheekbones, and surrounding structures
  • Treat oral pathology such as cysts, tumors, infections, and other abnormalities of the oral and maxillofacial region
  • Perform reconstructive procedures for congenital deformities, trauma-related defects, and functional jaw disorders
  • Evaluate and manage temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorders and associated functional complications
  • Collaborate with orthodontists, prosthodontists, ENT specialists, plastic surgeons, and oncology teams for comprehensive patient care
  • Conduct pre-operative assessments, surgical planning, and post-operative follow-up care
  • Utilise advanced diagnostic imaging such as CT scans and 3D imaging to support surgical planning and treatment evaluation
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation and patient records in accordance with regulatory and institutional standards
  • Participate in clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives, and professional development activities
  • Ensure adherence to infection control protocols, surgical safety guidelines, and UAE healthcare regulations
