We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Consultant Specialist.

Business: CTO Data Technology

Principal responsibilities

  • Act as the key technical enabler for the China-based team to manage and evolve CDMS-related services.
  • Drive technology decisions that improve customer journey and overall user experience.
  • Understand, clarify, and refine business/functional requirements; produce detailed technical designs for development teams.
  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable applications and services for customer journey initiatives.
  • Lead architecture and solution design with a strong focus on Java/Spring Boot/Spring Cloud best practices.
  • Perform code reviews and enforce high coding standards, secure coding principles, and engineering quality gates.
  • Promote and implement suitable design patterns to improve code flexibility, maintainability, and reuse.
  • Lead and coach developers (especially junior/new team members) to achieve delivery goals and engineering metrics.
  • Ensure robust production support and service management model, including collaboration with 3rd-party providers where needed.
  • Manage incident/problem resolution within agreed SLAs and drive root-cause fixes/preventive actions.
  • Partner with DevOps teams to improve CI/CD, release reliability, observability, and operational excellence.
  • Support China delivery capability uplift through knowledge sharing, standards, and technical mentoring.
  • Support and participate in department management and strategic technology initiatives.
  • Contribute to AI-enabled engineering and business solutions (e.g., intelligent automation, recommendation/assistant capabilities, AI service integration) where relevant to improve efficiency and customer outcomes.
  • Continuously benchmark system performance and lead optimization initiatives across application, database, and integration layers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or above in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 10+ years of hands-on software engineering experience, with strong track record as a Senior Java Developer / Tech Lead.
  • Strong hands-on expertise in Java, Spring, J2EE, and SQL technologies; passionate about adopting new technologies.
  • Strong proficiency in Java and solid object-oriented analysis/design/programming fundamentals.
  • Deep hands-on experience with Spring Boot and good knowledge of Spring Cloud and microservices architecture.
  • Strong experience with RESTful API design/development; practical knowledge of API technologies such as REST and WebSocket.
  • Good knowledge and hands-on experience with relational databases and NoSQL (e.g., MongoDB, Redis).
  • Good understanding of event-driven architecture and brokers such as Kafka.
  • Familiarity with software design patterns and clean architecture practices.
  • Experience in containerization and orchestration, ideally Docker + Kubernetes.
  • Working experience in DevOps/Agile delivery environments is a plus.
  • Practical experience with Git, Jenkins, Sonar (or equivalent CI/CD and code quality tooling).
  • Strong ability to understand business requirements in written English and translate them into robust technical solutions.
  • Good knowledge of benchmarking, profiling, and performance optimization.
  • Exposure to or hands-on experience in AI-related development/integration (e.g., LLM/API integration, intelligent workflow automation, AI-assisted features) is highly preferred.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, ownership mindset, and ability to lead under delivery pressure.
