Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop iDAS and oDAS designs using iBwave Design software to meet carrier and public safety coverage objectives.
  • Perform RF link budgets, capacity analysis, and propagation modeling across multiple frequency bands (700/850/1900/2100 MHz, CBRS, 5G NR).
  • Create detailed design packages, including floor plans, schematics, BOMs, and construction-ready documents.
  • Conduct and/or review walk test data, CW tests, PIM/Sweep tests, and validate results against design criteria.
  • Support system commissioning, integration, and optimization in collaboration with Field Engineering teams.
  • Work with carriers (AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, etc.) to ensure design compliance and KPI acceptance.
  • Participate in RFP/RFI responses, providing technical input, design proposals, and cost estimates.
  • Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and collaborate across departments (Sales Engineering, PM, Field Ops).
  • Ensure designs comply with AHJ, NFPA, and local building code requirements for public safety DAS.
  • Document results and prepare closeout deliverables, including test reports, acceptance packages, and “as-built” updates.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Telecommunications Engineering, Computer Systems, or related field.
  • 3+ years of hands-on DAS RF design experience (iDAS/oDAS, ERRCS, small cells, or related).
  • Proficiency with iBwave Design (Level 1/2 certification or higher preferred).
  • Strong understanding of RF fundamentals (RSRP, RSRQ, SINR, PIM, noise figures, intermodulation).
  • Experience with test equipment: PCTel scanners, Anritsu/JDSU spectrum analyzers, OTDR, sweep testers.
  • Familiarity with major DAS OEM platforms (CommScope OneCell/ERA, Corning ONE/Everon, SOLiD, JMA/Teko, ADRF, SpiderCloud).
  • Strong technical writing and documentation skills.
  • Ability to travel 25–50% as required for site walks, testing, and commissioning.

Preferred:

  • iBwave Level 3 certification.
  • Experience with 5G NR, CBRS/Private LTE, and Wi-Fi 6 design and optimization.
  • Prior carrier-facing experience for design reviews, KPI acceptance, and troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD/Revit for design integration.
  • Familiarity with public safety DAS requirements (NFPA 72/1221, IFC codes).
