Consultant Psychiatrist | Regional Victoria

We’re currently partnering with a well-established regional referral hospital in Victoria to support the appointment of a Consultant Psychiatrist. This is a service that genuinely values collaboration, flexibility, and innovation in mental health care.

The Opportunity

You’ll be joining a relatively compact but highly capable Mental Health & Wellbeing Service supporting a regional population of approximately 70,000 across a large catchment area.

The structure allows for:

• A broad and meaningful clinical scope across inpatient and community settings
• Close collaboration with consultation-liaison and inpatient psychiatry teams
• Direct engagement with an experienced Clinical Director and multidisciplinary team
• Opportunities for mentorship, making it particularly appealing for newer Fellows

This is a role where your voice is heard, and your clinical input has a visible impact on service delivery.

The Hospital

The service sits within a major regional health provider with:

• Approximately 175+ beds
• A workforce of over 1,000 staff delivering care across the region
• Strong links with Monash University and La Trobe University for teaching and training

Mental health services include:

• Acute inpatient care
• Community mental health services
• Consultation-liaison psychiatry
• Crisis and outreach support

Who We’re Looking For

• Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (or eligibility)
• Doctors assessed by RAZCP deemed substantially or partially comparable encouraged to apply
• Current registration with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency
• Strong commitment to patient-centred care
• Experience or interest in community, crisis, or outreach psychiatry highly regarded
