Job Opportunity: Consultant in Forensic Psychiatry
Location: South East England
Salary: Competitive
Hours: Full-Time

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Psychiatrist in Forensic Psychiatry. This position involves close collaboration with a multidisciplinary team (MDT), external agencies, and regular communication with the Ministry of Justice.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare reports and attend Managers Hearings and Tribunals for patients under your care.

• Manage patients on hospital orders, with or without restriction orders, ensuring clear and regular communication with the Ministry of Justice.

• Liaise closely with all disciplines within the MDT, including forensic social workers, psychologists, occupational therapists, and others.

• Engage in meetings and discussions concerning the development of the Secure Service at the Trust.

• Maintain productive and collaborative relationships with external agencies such as general adult psychiatrists, forensic psychiatrists from the Medium Secure Service, and Criminal Justice Teams.

Qualifications:

• Full GMC registration with a licence to practice.

• On the GMC Specialist Register, or within 3 months of completion.

• Section 12(2) MHA approval or close to completion.
