Consultant - Property Risk Engineer

Risk Consulting is looking for candidates to join our Property Risk Consulting practice as a Consultant based in Milan.

Risk Consulting is a management consulting firm that provides risk management services as part of Marsh Risk, a leader in insurance brokerage and head of the international Marsh Group, a group of expertise in strategic and management consulting, reinsurance, human capital, and investments ( Oliver Wyman, Guy Carpenter, Mercer).

The Property Risk Consulting practice support clients in protecting and safeguarding the value of their business assets by analyzing process risks, assessing exposure to natural hazards, and conducting business interruption studies. All of this makes it possible to define and develop a strong risk management strategy aligned with business objectives.

We will count on you to:

Thanks to your previous experience in similar activities, we are counting on you to support clients in identifying, analyzing, and mitigating the risks that threaten their production, logistics, and commercial facilities, by visiting plants and gaining close familiarity with systems and technologies.

More specifically, you will have the opportunity to carry out the following activities:

  • On-site property risk assessments: you will assess risks related to fire, explosion, theft, catastrophic natural events, etc.

  • Support for property-related insurance and risk transfer activities

  • Loss prevention activities: you will support clients by proposing practical solutions to mitigate risks and defining loss prevention plans in line with international standards and local regulations

  • Engineering activities on fire protection topics: you will analyze and review fire protection projects, sprinkler systems, technical specifications, hydraulic calculations, etc.

  • Business Interruption risk analysis: you will assess the potential economic and operational impacts arising from critical events or asset loss, helping clients prepare in advance

  • Special projects: you will work on advanced analysis projects related to extreme natural events, machinery breakdown analysis, etc.

What you need to have: 

  • Master’s degree in Engineering

  • Experience in Risk Engineering activities (at a broker or insurance company) or in Property Risk Management activities at other companies/institutions

  • Excellent command of Microsoft 365

  • Fluent in written and spoken Italian and English

  • Willingness to travel for short business trips in Italy and abroad

  • Valid driving license (B)

  • Strong organizational, project management attitude and attention to details

  • Your strengths include strong client orientation, commercial acumen, decision-making power and a high degree of persuasiveness, as well as high motivation and resilience

  • You have already been able to demonstrate your strong team skills, your high sense of responsibility and your flexibility

What makes you stand out:

  • Good technical knowledge in the assessment of fire protection systems according to NFPA standards and/or other international standards (UNI-EN; FM)

  • Previous experience in sprinkler review and plan review activities focused on fire protection systems

  • Good technical knowledge of property risks

  • Good technical report-writing skills

  • Negotiation and problem-solving skills

  • Efficient time management skills

  • Excellent organizational and presentation skills

What we offer:

  • The position is offered on a permanent basis.

  • We propose a gross annual salary starting from € 28.000 for a full-time position. Depending on experience, skills and qualifications, we are willing to consider compensation above the starting salary. Further details will be shared during the selection process or directly in the employment contract.

  • The National Collective Bargaining Agreement (NCBA) applied is "Terziario, Distribuzione e Servizi”.
    The contractual level, together with the applicable terms and conditions, will be determined in line with the experience and professional profile of the candidate selected through the recruitment process.
