🩺 Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Consultant Pediatric Radiation Oncologist to join a leading tertiary healthcare institution in the UAE. The successful candidate will provide specialized radiation oncology services for infants, children, and adolescents with cancer, delivering advanced, evidence-based radiotherapy while working closely with pediatric oncologists, surgeons, radiologists, pathologists, medical physicists, radiation therapists, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure the highest standards of patient care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, evaluate, and manage pediatric patients requiring radiation therapy for malignant and selected benign conditions.
  • Develop individualized radiotherapy treatment plans using evidence-based clinical protocols.
  • Perform patient consultations, simulation, target volume delineation, treatment planning review, and radiation prescription.
  • Deliver advanced radiation therapy techniques, including IMRT, VMAT, IGRT, stereotactic radiotherapy, and proton therapy (where available).
  • Monitor patients during treatment and manage acute and long-term radiation-related side effects.
  • Collaborate with pediatric oncology multidisciplinary teams to develop comprehensive treatment strategies.
  • Participate in pediatric tumor boards, clinical case discussions, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Provide long-term follow-up care, survivorship planning, and monitoring for late effects of radiation therapy.
  • Counsel patients and families regarding diagnosis, treatment options, expected outcomes, potential risks, and follow-up care.
  • Ensure compliance with radiation safety regulations, quality assurance standards, and hospital policies.
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation and medical records.
  • Supervise junior physicians, residents, fellows, and allied healthcare professionals.
  • Participate in clinical research, teaching, and Continuing Medical Education (CME) activities.

Requirements

Qualifications & Requirements

  • MBBS or equivalent medical degree recognized by the relevant UAE health authority.
  • Completion of an accredited residency in Radiation Oncology.
  • Fellowship or subspecialty training in Pediatric Radiation Oncology is highly desirable.
  • Board Certification or equivalent specialist qualification recognized under the UAE Professional Qualification Requirements (PQR).
  • Eligibility for or possession of a DHA, DOH, or MOHAP Consultant License.

Experience

  • Minimum 3–5 years of post-board experience as a Consultant Radiation Oncologist with significant experience in pediatric oncology (or as required by UAE licensing regulations).
  • Experience treating pediatric brain tumors, sarcomas, neuroblastoma, Wilms tumor, retinoblastoma, lymphomas, and other childhood cancers requiring radiotherapy.
  • Expertise in advanced radiotherapy planning and image-guided treatment techniques.
  • Experience working in internationally accredited pediatric cancer centers or tertiary hospitals is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated experience in multidisciplinary pediatric oncology care.

  • Expertise in pediatric radiation oncology and advanced radiotherapy techniques.
  • Strong knowledge of pediatric cancer biology and radiation treatment protocols.
  • Proficiency in radiation treatment planning systems and image-guided radiotherapy technologies.
  • Excellent clinical judgment and decision-making skills.
  • Strong communication and family counseling abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary pediatric oncology teams.
  • Commitment to patient safety, quality improvement, and evidence-based practice.
  • Leadership, mentoring, and teaching capabilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Fellowship from a recognized international Pediatric Radiation Oncology program.
  • Western Board Certification or equivalent internationally recognized qualification (preferred).
  • Experience with proton therapy and stereotactic radiotherapy.
  • Active involvement in clinical research, publications, and medical education.
