What you'll be doing

You’ll be joining CIBC’s Digital and CX Technology team, where innovation and client experience are at the heart of everything we do. As a Consultant, IT Quality Assurance you’ll play a key role in overseeing the systems testing process and ensuring our solutions meet client needs with the highest quality. You’ll lead a team within CIBC’s Technology organization, assigning and monitoring the execution of test cases while providing coaching and mentorship. You’ll create test plans, develop testing strategies, and provide estimates that help build the bank of the future. Your hands-on approach will support our commitment to delivering reliable digital solutions.

How you'll succeed

  • Testing expertise – Lead the investigation and translation of business requirements into test cases. Design and manage end-to-end testing activities for multiple projects across the business. Use your expertise in software development testing to deliver quality products that meet business and system requirements.

  • Leadership skills – Provide ongoing feedback, support, and mentorship to your team. Proactively identify potential issues throughout all test phases and recommend improvements or enhancements.

  • Project coordination – Identify obstacles or risks that may impact a project’s timeline or success, and provide regular status updates to stakeholders. Maintain open communication and escalate issues when necessary. Ensure all test deliverables are received, approved, and aligned with your project’s timeline, budget, and goals.

  • Technical proficiency – Leverage your experience with API testing, web UI test automation, and programming languages to drive quality and efficiency. Utilize tools like Postman, Parasoft SOAtest, Playwright, TypeScript, and Python to create, execute, and maintain robust test suites and frameworks.

Who you are

  • You have advanced technical skills. You have 5-7 years of experience testing RESTful APIs and web services, proficiency with API testing tools such as Postman or Parasoft SOAtest, and expertise in API validation, authentication methods (OAuth, JWT, API Keys), and test automation. You are skilled in developing automated UI testing frameworks using Playwright, and have strong programming abilities in TypeScript and Python.

  • You understand modern development practices You have experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated test execution, version control systems like Git, and Agile methodologies. You excel at test reporting, debugging, and root cause analysis.
