To take a lead on all Operational Information Management and Performance Reporting (OIM & PR) activities, including tracking and meeting reporting needs, adapting reporting practices to streamline and strengthen the reporting functions within the country office, and ensuring the presentation of standard and consistent operating picture of WFP operations and associated results that facilitate informed and timely decision-making at all levels throughout.

The job holder operates with a very high degree of independence, including the responsibility to ensure reporting deadlines and deliverables are fully met. The job holder will also be required to undertake analytical work of a high complexity and will be expected to take the lead on improving the delivery of OIM & PR functions by the Country Office.

The job holder will report to the Head of Partnerships, Communications and Reports (PCR) Unit and work closely with the Partnerships and Communications functions, as well as relevant teams across the Country Office and Field/Area Offices.

KEY DELIVERABLES (not all-inclusive)

• Lead technical staff on the preparation of reports to ensure that standard OIM & PR procedures and templates are followed to drive the quality, consistency and standardisation of information management and performance reporting across WFP.
• Be a subject matter expert on WFP operations in Myanmar and ensure relevant information and data from internal and external sources are captured, synthesized, and shared to facilitate and maximize the exchange of information and data flow between functional area networks in WFP, and to ensure senior managers have operational awareness and understanding of events that may have humanitarian and/or operational impacts on WFP.
• Collate, analyse, and communicate the 'Essential Elements of Information', pertaining to the operational environment and available human, financial, and physical assets in order to facilitate access to timely and accurate information used at country and corporate levels.
• Lead the preparation of Annual Country Report (ACR) in collaboration with the country office programme, monitoring & evaluation, logistics and resource management functions by coordinating to ensure coherence and quality of performance information.
• Support the preparation of high-level key messages, briefing and background notes for Senior Leadership Team to support strategic engagements and advocacy efforts.
• Support technical teams in translating evidence and results into high-quality knowledge and communication products, including case studies, value propositions, and thematic briefs.
• Collaborate with counterparts internally and with other UN agencies to ensure consistency in humanitarian information and to complement WFP analysis and information.
• Support the enhancement of the capacity of WFP staff to effectively manage operational information and performance reporting, through one-on-one guidance and the delivery of the OIM & PR training on core competencies.
• Support the initiatives for developing improved, streamlined, and harmonized OIM & PR including drafting of OIM & PR related normative guidance, as required.
• Support the assurance of defined quality standards in all OIM & PR products. Others as required.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Education

Advanced University degree in Political Science, Economics, Statistics, Information Management or Journalism, Business Management, Social Sciences or other relevant field, or First University degree with additional years of related work experience and/or training/courses.

Experience:

At least three years or more of postgraduate professional experience in a relevant field of work, with a background and interest in international humanitarian development.

Desired experiences for entry into the role:

• Specialized knowledge of information management best practices, techniques, and processes with some understanding of the basic theoretical background.
• Strong written and oral communication skills, including substantive analysis and report writing skills.
• Able to supervise and support more junior and/or less experienced members of the team.
• Knowledge of, or the ability to quickly assimilate, UN/WFP-specific processes and systems.

Language: Excellent written and spoken English
