
Make a meaningful impact protecting the rights, safety and wellbeing of older people and adults with disability. As a Helpline Consultant, you will be the first point of contact for reports of abuse, neglect and exploitation. Using a person-centred, trauma-informed and rights-based approach, you will work with older people, adults with disability, families, carers, services and agencies to understand risk, strengthen safety, and support timely, practical outcomes.
This is a practical frontline role that applies principles aligned with domestic and family violence, safeguarding, and crisis response settings. You will combine sound judgement and empathy to uphold the rights of older people and adults with disability experiencing abuse, neglect, or exploitation. You will assess safety and wellbeing, gather and analyse information in accordance with legislation, and connect people with supports that reflect their needs, wishes, culture and circumstances.
You'll work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment alongside a capable and compassionate team dedicated to upholding the rights of older people and adults with disability.
You are confident in navigating complex situations and remain calm under pressure. You assess risk and make sound decisions in real time while documenting clearly and accurately. You thrive in fast-paced, team-driven environments.
