Job Description

Consultant - DevOps & CI/CD Lead

Career Level: C3

Introduction to role:

Are you ready to architect secure, automated delivery on AWS that accelerates how therapies reach patients? As the DevOps and CI/CD Lead, you will set the direction for cloud-native delivery pipelines, tooling, and governance that power our platforms and products at scale. Your work will turn complex, regulated delivery challenges into streamlined, auditable flows that increase speed to value without compromising security or quality.

This role sits at the heart of our digital transformation, bringing engineering rigor and automation to how software is built, tested, released, and operated. You will shape the patterns, frameworks, and metrics that help teams ship with confidence and learn faster. How would you reduce deployment lead time from hours to minutes while improving compliance and cost transparency?

Accountabilities:

DevOps Leadership: Serve as a hands-on expert across automation, infrastructure definition, provisioning, configuration management, deployment, monitoring, and observability—raising engineering standards and outcomes.

CICD Pipeline Ownership: Design, implement, and maintain end-to-end pipelines using AWS-native tools and/or Bamboo, Bitbucket, Jira, S3, Lambda, Linux scripting, and Python—enabling secure, repeatable releases at scale.

AWS Cloud Engineering: Architect, build, and manage cloud infrastructure using AWS services with a focus on scalability, reliability, security, and cost efficiency, aligned to AWS Well-Architected Framework principles.

Python Automation: Develop and maintain Python-based automation for infrastructure provisioning, deployment orchestration, operational tasks, testing suites, and data pipelines using Boto3 and REST APIs.

Security and Compliance by Design: Continuously assess vulnerabilities and risks, implement IAM guidelines, encryption, network segmentation, and compliance controls to ensure systems are safe, secure, and auditable.

Release and Dependency Strategy: Partner with scrum managers, development managers, and application owners to refine component release strategies, reduce dependencies, and improve flow through agile delivery.

Jira and Bitbucket Administration: Create and optimize Jira projects, complex workflows, permission and security schemes; manage access; configure boards; and administer Bitbucket projects and repositories to meet compliance standards.

Insights and Analytics: Build dashboards, visualizations, and analytical models using Python and associated libraries to provide decision support, forecast impact, and inform investment and prioritization.

Vendor and Customer Management: Manage relationships with external suppliers and internal partners, aligning roadmaps and performance to business needs and driving improved delivery outcomes.

Operating Model Enablement: Partner with platform and product teams to roll out agile and lean practices, champion better ways of working, and integrate tooling that connects collaborators and accelerates delivery.

Cost and Performance Optimization: Monitor and optimize AWS resource utilization, performance, and spend, ensuring clear visibility and actionable insights across environments.

Continuous Improvement: Challenge the status quo and introduce innovative ideas that enhance frameworks, guardrails, and developer experience—scaling what works across teams.
