
Role: Chief of Staff
Technology Architecture & Modernization (A+M) unites a highly inter-connected set of functions in a pivotal role driving the over-arching technical framework, product delivery and developer enablement teams at the center of Morgan Stanley's technology strategy. Combining efforts to modernize technologies, architecture and development practices, A+M drives the Firm's multi-year Technology Modernization roadmap to more effective and innovative technology platforms, enabling our business to serve evolving client demands in a highly competitive industry.

Position is responsible for supporting the COS and the broader leadership team across a wide variety of areas including Technology strategy development and execution, investment management and governance, financial management and cost efficiency, and workforce strategy. Role is in a fast-paced environment and requires a strong resource that can operate independently and is execution oriented.
Responsibilities
> Develop, analyze, and present findings in response to senior management requests
> Work with the leadership team to identify creative solutions to a wide-array of opportunities and challenges
> Coordinate and prepare comprehensive executive-level insights and analysis in advance of key meetings
> Managing workforce strategy and planning including development and execution
> Partner with Architecture and Modernization leadership, Finance, and the Technology COO office to manage financial / headcount budgets, oversee investment management processes, and manage program delivery
> Drive cross super-department coordination on divisional efforts (e.g., annual budgeting, strategic investments, people agenda, cost efficiency, etc.)
> Serve as an escalation channel for strategic, high visibility programs to ensure issues are addressed.
> Ensure staff has insights into organizational priorities, performance, and objectives through execution of a comprehensive communication plan (e.g., Open Forums, email campaigns, intranet content, and leadership communication) Requirements
> Excellent verbal and written communication skills
> Strong problem solving and analytical skills
> Ability to perform in high pressure, fast paced situations
> Exceptional attention to detail and highly organized
> Thorough understanding of finance and accounting principles
> Ability to analyze / synthesize large amounts of information and present findings to senior audiences
> Superior PowerPoint, Excel, and general MS Office skills
> Ability to work across functional disciplines and with all levels of the organization
> Technology and organizational strategy background a plus
Desired Skills
> PMO and Program management experience is a plus
> MS Project knowledge
> Basic understanding of Jive platform functionality
> Content management skills
