What you’ll be doing

As an Enterprise AML Consultant Co-Op Summer Student, you will support Enterprise AML in the identification, management and mitigation of risks related to money laundering, terrorist financing and economic sanctions evasion. You will use your analytical skills to conduct data analysis and prepare reports related to AML, ATF and Sanctions investigations and business processes. You will support key data governance, records management, information security, and record retention reviews, while contributing to process improvements and operational effectiveness.

You may also be assigned to various teams within Enterprise AML on a rotational basis to support day-to-day operations and gain exposure across the function.

At CIBC, we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. You’ll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you’ll spend 1–3 days per week on-site, while other days will be remote.

Important information

  • You are enrolled in a degree in Business/Commerce, Finance, Economics, or a related field at the time of the work term, with a graduation date of December 2026 or later.

• Understanding Requirements – Work closely with business partners to support the formulation of business requirements and contribute to solution design discussions related to AML, data governance, and investigative processes.

• Analytical Thinking – Conduct data analysis, investigate complex problems, and prepare clear, data-driven reports to support AML, ATF and Sanctions activities.

• Relationship Building – Establish strong relationships with colleagues, managers, and business partners to support collaboration and shared learning.

• Project Support – Participate in projects and initiatives focused on process improvement, operational efficiency, and effective risk management.

• Teamwork – Work creatively and collaboratively within Enterprise AML teams to assess business and technical considerations and support day-to-day operations.
