Part of the Chief Data Office in Group Digital, the Data Governance discipline sets out the framework for authority, control and shared decision making over the management of data assets. Data Governance guides all other data management disciplines to ensure strategy, policy, stewardship and culture support availability, usability, integrity, and security of data throughout its lifecycle.
The Data Governance Senior Developer will support these ambitions through use of technical solutions to help colleagues across the firm to understand, connect and govern the core data and information relied on to support our business operations, fostering trust and supporting growth.
Key responsibilities
Develop and and oversee implementation of technical solutions to support data and information cataloguing, classification, quality and discovery.
Working with stakeholders to confirm business requirements and test approaches and solutions.
Provide subject matter expertise and technical leadership to colleagues for our chosen data technologies as required.
Champion and explore use of AI within our chosen data technologies to improve data management processes.
Development of tools and products to help business stakeholders engage e.g. dashboards and remediation tools.
Technical Skills:
Must have:
Experience working with Informatica suite of data governance tools(preferably Cloud - IDMC).
knowledge on out of the box transformations available exclusively in Informatica such as Parser, Key generator, Match, Labeler, Standardizer, Address doctor, in addition to the PowerCenter transformations etc.
Experience creating profiles/scorecards
Knowledge on PDO/CDO/LDO,
Experience in SQL
Expertise in Cloud Data Integrations and API integrations with strong knowledge on APIs.
Experience of working in a data management role as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
Appreciation of related data disciplines and concepts such as data profiling, DQ dimensions, Facts, dimensions, data granularity, data cleansing, metadata management, data lineage, exception remediation, SCD’s etc.
Good to have:
Experience of working with other data governance tools available in the market.
Experience of Cloud data platforms (preferably Microsoft suite – Azure SQL, Databricks, Blob Storage, Databricks and Data factory).
Knowledge of Data warehousing and Data engineering concepts.
Familiar with DevOps models and Agile methodologies.
Personal Skills:
Effective communication – ability to communicate ideas and concepts clearly, articulate technical challenges in a non-technical language and to listen to others, engaging in discussions with an open mind.
