Construction Training Manager

  • Join the NEX Building Group L&D team as a Construction Training Manager
  • Manage technical training, inductions and onboarding for our construction employees
  • Norwest location and involves travel to our NSW regional branches to conduct inductions of new hires

About the opportunity

Reporting into the Organisational Development Manager you will play a crucial role in contributing to the success of the McDonald Jones Homes and MOJO Homes construction teams through facilitating onboarding, induction, and ongoing training for our construction employees. More specifically, you will:

  • Facilitate and deliver a three-week induction program with the aim of setting new construction site supervisors are onboarded and set up for success
  • Arrange training room and practical construction site based learning and ensure that eleanring modules are completed within induction timeframes
  • Partner closely with key stakeholders including construction managers, and HR to plan relevant, timely and effective induction training
  • Conduct thorough training analysis to identify critical skill gaps with our construction and operations teams and address these through multi modal training
  • Manage completion of structured inductions including acknowledgement of policies and procedures
  • Deliver structured, engaging training utilising a blended approach of virtual, online and in person
  • Oversee employees completing the MJH Construction Cadetship, Traineeship and Graduate Programs
  • Mentor and coach construction early career talent to ensure effective career plans are being mapped for their future development to improve retention, engagement and productivity
  • Identify ways to improve our technical training programs and construction team onboarding experiences

About you

You will share a passion for our purpose and be aligned to our core values. In addition, you will demonstrate:

  • Experience delivering technical construction and safety training
  • Cert IV in Training and Assessment
  • Exceptional facilitation and presentation skills
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to positively engage with people at all levels
  • A strong commitment to safety, health & environment procedures
  • A willingness to learn new technology and work with a diverse team
  • Driver’s license
