Summary of Duties: Under the immediate supervision of a Parks Supervisor, Foreman or a Crew leader perform skilled and semi-skilled work related to maintenance and renovation of parks and recreation facilities, grounds, pathways, and landscape.
Essential Employee Responsibilities: During emergency conditions, subject to being called to work in the event of a disaster, such as a hurricane, or other emergency situation and are expected to perform emergency service duties, as assigned.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Concrete work through placement, finishing and modifying, constructing parks and recreation related facilities such as playgrounds, picnic pavilions, fishing docks, bridges and pathways, and installing landscape.
- Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on all required equipment and facilities.
- General knowledge on installation, maintenance and repairs of park and recreation facilities and amenities.
- Perform duties in support of development and maintenance of parks, pools, grounds, restrooms and sport fields.
- Paint, repair and refurbish fixtures, signs, equipment and other miscellaneous items as needed.
- Operate and maintain various hand and job-related power tools.
- Participates in emergency response teams.
- Safety sensitive position subject to the Random Drug Screen Policy.
- Must meet and maintain the requirements of the driver safety policy.
- Employee may be required to work special events on nights, weekends or holidays.
- Other duties as assigned.

The employee is rarely required to sit, crouch or crawl. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, fumes, or airborne particles, outside weather conditions, extreme heat, and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals and the risk of electrical shock. The employee is rarely exposed to high, precarious places; extreme cold; and explosives.
Disagreeable: Frequent exposure to unpleasant environmental conditions and/or hazards. The majority of work performed outside or with exposure to risk and frequent physical effort is required.

QualificationsMinimum

Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Experience: Entry level knowledge of construction, carpentry work, and landscape installation/maintenance. Operate and maintain various hand and job-related power tools.
Licenses and Certifications:  Must have a valid driver's license and meet the driver safety policy requirements.
Pre-employment Requirements: Pass pre-employment drug screening, pass background check, and eligible status on Motor Vehicle Report.
