Construction Team Lead

Due to MSG's continued growth, a new opening is available for a Construction Team Leader to assist with our projects in Shaker Heights, OH!

Key Responsibilities

• Lead implementation of ODOT and local agency construction projects, ensuring compliance with specifications, standards, and contract requirements.
• Oversee day‑to‑day project operations, including documentation, quality assurance, safety practices, and construction progress tracking.
• Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, contractors, and project stakeholders.
• Supervise, mentor, and engage a team of 8–10 construction inspectors and construction engineers.
• Provide technical guidance, performance feedback, and professional development support.
• Coordinate staff assignments to align with project needs, utilization expectations, and individual strengths.
• Manage project budgets, schedules, deliverables, and reporting.
• Review daily reports, pay estimates, RFIs, change orders, and contract documentation.
• Ensure consistent application of ODOT Construction & Material Specifications and procedural manuals.
• Maintain team utilization goals, staffing balance, and workload planning.
• Support forecasting, resource allocation, and operational reporting for the Construction Services group.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with ODOT, municipalities, counties, and other regional partners.
• Support proposal efforts, scope development, fee estimates, and interview preparation.
• Identify opportunities to expand MSG’s presence in Northeast Ohio through new and repeat business.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

• This leader will guide a team of 8–10 construction inspectors and construction engineers, support successful delivery of ODOT and local agency infrastructure projects, and contribute to the growth and reputation of MSG’s Construction Services group.
• This role combines technical project oversight, team leadership, project administration, and business development—ideal for someone who excels in both field and client-facing environments.
